But really, it's the same old racist crap from a lying addict.<< He gave it to Clinton far worse than he is giving it to Barrack Obama now... I used to listen to him religiously in the 90's and what he said/used against Bill Clinton was was beyond bad taste, part of the reason I turned him off, and havent listened to him in 10 years. But with that said, I don't think he is a racist per say, I just think he is anti Democrat, no matter your color, if you are a Democrat you will get it from Rush....

The core base that remains, unfortunately, is easily represented by the jerk who beat the woman in front of her daughter outside the restaurant. That's the target audience for Fox News, Rush, Malkin's books, town hall meetings, Tea Party protests, et al. And Rush and Fox News certainly know it! There's an old saying which pretty fits the GOP noise machine to a tee: "The man who stands idly by and watches a house burn to the ground might as well be the one holding the match." Rush might not be a racist in real life, but he certainly portrays one accurately enough on the radio. And at the end of the day, that's just as bad if not worse.

If President Obama was white, he would be getting the same treatment he is now. Hell if Hillary Clinton would have been elected, she would have probably gotten it worse....

Appealing to the worst of his listeners' conscious or subconscious preconceptions that a woman has no business being President of the United States. He does the same to Obama, but via racism. Sure, sometimes he trashes Obama just on policy matters, but sometimes there IS an appeal to racism. So it's perfectly valid to call Limbaugh on that, even though he'd trash any Democrat.

To illustrate; the noise machine is like a guy who hands out free matches, lighter fluid and a map to the house at an arsonists convention while shouting dire warnings that the house is infested from top to bottom and will ruin the entire neighborhood if something isn't done about it. Then later, while the house is burning, watches the carnage with a smirk and says "gee what a pity, even though the house DID suck, and by the way it's not as though you can blame ME for what happened!". RIP Dr. Tiller.

Well, it's that and I'm too busy tending to my homelife and playing video games to care about your opinion of Atlanta. Atlanta is a big place, what... 5 million people in the Metro Area, including the City proper and surrounding suburbs? But about the OP.... the crime was terribe and the perp should get the book thrown at him. As for Rush, I wouldn't know anything about what you guys and ladies say about him. I have never and will never listen to his shows. I've always thought of him as a guy who just wants to grab ratings at any price. So, don't look for my revealing research. Don't say I did it, and was proven wrong and therefore am bailing, becuase trust me, lol I'm really just too lazy to do it. Besides, no matter what the research would say, there is no way to tie it specifically to Fox News anyway. I don't anticipate finding white dudes out there saying, "I saw Hannity and decided to go find someone to beat down." SO... my new official reply to all of that ranting you did Skinner, is "Meh." Oh and by the by..... not that you guys care, but I've decided to follow DAR out the WE door. You guys can have it. But I would like to say that ecdc and you other Libs have drawn me more toward the center than I was a few years ago. I certainly don't toe the GOP party line anymore, not the way I used to. Thanks people, especially you ecdc. Bye peeps, see you in other threads!

As for deciding not to do the research because you are lazy... others have been doing the research for you. All you had to do was verify a few of their claims to see that it checks out. You didn't have to re-invent the wheel here. Any media outlet in broadcasting which deliberately and consistently misrepresents facts, as well as outright lies to their audience, is obviously doing so to push a specific agenda. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. Fox News constantly spreads lies (which are fairly easy to fact check with online searches) to feed into the baser instincts of their viewers, to perpetuate civil unease through fear and anger. When people are angry and afraid, they lose confidence in their society at large, and their governments, particularly their elected officials. Fox is deliberately pushing the racism buttons in their viewers in order to bring down Obama's high approval ratings, in an effort to give the GOP a better chance of winning back the White House in 2012. Unfortunately in the interim, that racism will become a loose cannon and be directed at those innocent bystanders who look like Obama, such as the woman leaving the Cracker Barrel restaurant outside Atlanta. Fox News, of course, refuses to accept responsibility for their actions, even though they know they're guilty in feeding this crap, just as they were with the "Tiller the Baby Killer" rhetoric. The racism is already present in this area of the Deep South; it's been there for over two hundred years. All Fox News is doing is fertilizing it with their Obama hate speech and non-factual biased reports.

Originally Posted By SingleParkPassholder It's probably time to point out yet again how WE has changed over the years. I've always maintained it's a microcosm of the country. Not exact, but close enough. When I first got here, it was much more right leaning than left. I was one of the righties. I defended Bush, saying his was a presidency of one large crisis after another, and he never really had a chance to get any domestic agenda or any other agenda off the ground. Even when he invaded Iraq, I was defending him. Of course, we all learned about the false premises and reasons supplied for Iraq, and our boy Beau personified Cheney much more than Bush in continuing to push the Administration's policies. As time wore on, I could no longer defend Cheney/Bush and became vociferous about it, to the point where I got banned for a while along with Beau for doing battle with him. We both came back, but in true Cheney style, Beau gets banned for going after another poster's wife while Cheney of course went after the first Joe Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame (who says this board isn't a microcosm?). Over time, more and more posters who leaned right eventually drifted into moderate territory and some into left. They can speak up for themselves and add their names if they wish here. Or not. Point is, the whole thing is cyclical and some right leaning posters now feel isolated and picked on due to the overall political climate. I went left/moderate because of the Iraq war and all the resultant lying and dishonesty that followed it. It would seem the country felt the same way because we elected Obama, although had the far right had an epiphany and realized THEY'RE the problem, McCain might very well be President right now if he didn't have Palin forced on him. Palin represents everything that is wrong about the far right and political discourse at present. So, if some people here feel it's all unfair, and decide to be "meh" dismissive about it all, feel free, but you're not helping yourself at all, because that attitude WILL carry over to your real life too (remember the microcosm). At least us conservative deserters had a cataclysmic reason (unjust War and lying, anyone?) to become the unpatriotic traitors we're accused of being daily on talk radio. We didn't run and leave here, either. We stuck it out, and eventually, our guy won (microcosm!). It seems the right would rather tuck tail and run (beau, DougDub, DlandDug, DAR, DVC Dad, etc. Kudos to wahooskipper for staying) rather than sift through the garbage the Darkbeers of the world spew) and then blame US for their problems.

Maybe they're unaware of just how foul and disgusting he's been since he was banned. Apart from the headaches he causes the moderators, he's said some positively ghastly, awful things about some of us here. What happened to me and others was not remotely funny. And I have no doubt if he reads this, he'll be delighted at knowing he bothered some of us. That's his goal. He's a terrible human being. Again, it's the microcosm of just how low some right-wingers will sink in their willingness to mistreat other people over their warped beliefs.
