I just can't put my finger on it.<< That most of the actors play the parts with some hybrid New York tough guy accent, and they're in Hawaii. Or maybe it's Scott Caan's up-do. (I think the show is dopey, but it's been a hit. I personally think it's a hit simply because people like the classic theme song just that much.) Like all TV shows, these cops live in a twilight zone of unlimited taxpayer funding. They have cooler gadgets than Minority Report. I wish my computer would make that little high pitched "deetdeetdeet" when processing data. There's always a hyperactive young woman who serves as homebase, phoning in realtime info just in the nick of time. These computers never time out, nor hesitate when extracting crucial data. And like all current cop shows, every crime lab, morgue and conference room is lit like the bar at a House of Blues. And it's perpetually sundown.
