DL's POTC has a very clear storyline about seeing the cursed treasure and then being transported back into a place of peril where the pirates were lurking - even the additional pirate skeletons at the end were added to bring some closure to the concept of time travel or displacement with return to the real world.

Fitting the Jack Sparrow character into the ride seems like a bit of a ploy designed to bring Johnny Depp fans into the ride or to continue a sort of a trend in making DL or WDW attractions into moving AA "wax museums" - first Harrison Ford on Indy at DL, Ellen D. at WDW's Epcot and now Johnny Depp on POTC.

Sure, everybody likes a little change now and then to spice up an attraction but why not the famous dueling pirates of DLP or something that fits a little better into the original storyline?

Also isnt there supposed to be a scene with jack sparrow sword fighting with barbossa and as the moonlight shines on them they turn into skeleteons? I remember a rumor about that awhile ago.

I've read extensive descriptions of the new animatronics and other changes in DL, but everyone only says that WDW's changes will be "lesser". So is WDW still getting the animatronic Jack Sparrow and, if so, will there be as many appearances (I've read that there will be 3 of Jack at DL)?

Other than that, I haven't heard about anything else that the East Coast version isn't getting. We're getting the 3 Jacks, Barbossa, Davey Jones, and WDI has said a bit in podcasts and on the official ride update site about what they've been working on, so there are definately some extras in store for both parks (refurb, new effects, etc).
