Although the floating dead fish in the waters when the tide started rolling out was a little disconcerting. <<The only difference between him and any of the other posters here is he is the only member of the LP.com leadership (or should I say powerbrokers?) that takes a regular presence on these boards.>> However I don't speak for LP on the boards so everything is my own musings (or rantings of a madman) as opposed to our corporate mantra. <<And if he thinks HKDL (or DCA or DSP or even my beloved DAK) was built the right way, that's OK.>> DSP definitely not. But I think they did a good job with the money available.

People tend to stick witih what they know.>> Good point and I was going to respond to this before but got a little sidetracked . But yeah, the reality is that few people outside of us fans who has actually been or the the hardcore faithful that wants to know everything about Disney in general, most don't even notice the parks in Asia or Europe, let alone want to talk about them on the message boards. My assumptions were actually confirmed when I went to the LP meet in July (my ONLY time being among Disney fans and the LP crowd) and most still seemed just as clueless about the Tokyo park just as a non-Disney fan. I showed my pictures around at the meet and some were amazed at what TDS looked like. A few of them never seen indepth pics of the place although they are all over the internet and gets new updates by TDLFAN and others almost monthly here. Like its been said, most only been to DL or WDW and a lot of people still think of going to Japan is like some once in a lifetime dream kind of thing, so I guess most don't venture in a section talking about a theme park that they think they would never get to see. I would say out of all the people I met that weekend and just sort of talked to, probably less than %5 of them has been to a Disney park outside of America and I knew all of the people there that have been to TDR before....all 8 of us there lol, 5 of us which posts here now . So, not too strange.

Actually, I think as far as the TDR board, it is litterally the happiest board on all the Disney resorts sections here. Seriously, I do. That's why its so boring lol. We get along there QUITE well compared to the DCA, DL and WDW threads. I think the only time rampant disagreement occurs is when you pay us a visit ;D. Even then, that's all pretty minor stuff 99% percent of the time. The section rarely gets an admin since the majority of the people are just asking for TDR/Japan trip advice or has a trivia about a ride or maybe a trip report. But honestly, that's really it. Just go and look down the section list right now. That's always very telling about what is generally discussed most of the time. What exactly happens there that keep people away? And also, if there is something that does, how does it manage to keep so many others away while DL, DCA and WDW are 50 times worse hands down but still gets steady traffic? As for HKDL, it's a new park and despite, ahem, the back-n-forth that goes on here, still its REALLY tame compared to the other sections and only a handful of people has been to the park thus far. I'm not saying people aren't interested, but its probably just more lurking versus out right conversation since it's really nothing more than another MK park that has nothing all that new or worthwile (and NO, its not a slam, just making a point that if you been to DL and WDW multiple times, you been on and done practically everything the park has to offer already, so alot of people were probably curious about it when it opened, but just moved on since there isn't anything major to talk about versus something like when DLP or even DCA opened).

But I was just making the point that its just as welcoming, if not more so than the other sections BECAUSE there is so little spite and bickering going on there UNLESS you want to argue there was sometime before that drove everyone away? Again, I can't buy that argument because I been here since the beginning and was part of the 'DCA wars' as people like to put it. Believe me, the most exciting that section has EVER gotten is when Pooh first came around and the year buildup to TDS being opened and other than that, pretty much a small/tame section. It really just goes back to people not being as interested or familiar with these parks like they obviously are with the American ones. DLP section is the perfect example too. Also has very little bickering going on, but then again, hardly ANYONE ever posts there too which explains it. I'm always surprise when I create a topic or post and its litterally still in the top 10, sometime weeks later when NO ONE has even added to the thing and we can ALL agree DLP is an amazing theme park.....but I just don't think most here have seen it to post or talk about it on a daily/weekly basis. Or KiNOO and Davewasbaloo is freakin everyone out over there ;D.

I have had quite a few disagreements with those in the Tokyo boards including WD, and Leemac goes there just to disagree for the fun of it. Just to name a few examples.

But many of them don't realize WDW is four parks, two water parks, PI and 33,000 hotel rooms. And, yes, often those folks say they're Disney nuts. I think they really are just fans of the park or parks they are familiar with.
