I always go out to see them as I believe they are the MOST Australian bird they are right comedians and they just make me smile. The Rosella's are a bit shy but are stunning in their colouring. The other Aussie bird that I like is the Kookaburra. The laugh! We have a song about them that the children sing. Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree Merry Merry King of the bush is he Laugh Kookaburra laugh How happy your life must be! I will go find some links for the birds!

I forgot about that, I'll have to check it out soon...there used to be some wallabies and emus and Aussie birds in what they called the "Australian Walkabout", but it's been revamped to the WW now... http://www.louisvillezoo.org/c ollection/exhibits/WallarooWalk.pdf

Actually back in my backpacker days I did pay a visit to good old Ramsay Street, or Pin Oak Street as it's known in the real world. Now Wildlife, I'm lucky to live in a beautiful spot in Sydney. At the end of my garden is a beautiful bay, as I write this I can see many boats gently sailing by. There's usually a pelican or two to be seen, and always lots of fish. Have never seen a Koala, Roo or a snake in the neighbourhood, but we do get possoms. I'm not too far from the Royal National Park and often go down there for a hike. My very first time down there I was confronted with a brown Snake.....thankfully it decided to slither off. I must say, it scared the crap out of me. Spiders we do see every now and again. I nearly stood on a redback a couple of months back, wasn't wearing shoes or socks, so luckily I spoted it before I trod on it. It's the Huntsmen that freak me out. They will bite, but they wont kill you, but they are huge hairy things.... Now chocolate, this is where I have to disagree with the aussies. I much prefer chocolate from back home, so much so, that I get my Mother to send me out a batch on a monthly basis! Ok, have to run now....will add more in a bit.

I don't know how long ago it was since you visited Stratford, but boy has it changed! And I heard Bouncer died of Cancer, that's very sad. It's also just occured to me that this means nothing to 99.9% of LPers!!!
