That was even without ToT and RnR.

My daughter and I flew from the west coast to WDW during the second week of Sept., 2001. When we arrived in Orlando, Hurricanes Erin and Felix were out in the Atlantic and it rained hard every day! The third day of our vacation was Sept. 11th and, as we all know...the US was attacked by terrorists. It was such a surreal experience. The parks were closed; people from Ft. Wilderness joined us at POR; Disney suggested we just stay put. There was a driving sideways rain as Hurricane Gabrielle passed across Florida! We all just sat inside our rooms and watched TV as it poured outside. No airports were operating of course, and all rental cars were rented. It was pretty scary!

After several years of going to WDW in the 70's, my family wanted to try something different and we decided to take our first cruise on the Home Lines' Doric to Bermuda. This was around 81-82. We got as hooked on cruising as we did on WDW. I think we took 2 or three more cruises on the Atlantic.

There are a lot of great cruise lines today, but I haven't found one as good as Home Lines.
