Unlike most peoples' schedules Sat's, Sun's and holidays are just like any other times for us. (3) were 2 years ago. 1+ year ago I saw the "Mother Lode" of all fares on Travelocity under their "flexible flights" section: RT(obviously) from SFO to Paris: $383 Needless to say I should have grabbed it but at that time I just had no desire to go to Europe, after all I enjoy East Asia the most.

Also, the more stopovers you make from point A to point B should make the fare *cheaper* because it takes longer and makes the routing less desirable. So going to the west coast would be an option if you don't mind your trip to the far east to take you on average 8 hours longer to get there, as opposed to flying out of the east coast... like on Continental EWR to NRT?
