Apart from the size I do agree that the rooms don't seem hugely different from the Sequoia in terms of comfort or offerings.

But I found the communal areas (apart from the food court where we ate off peak) to be scrum like at the SF. The layout was incredibly complicated and I actually had to lug a 5 year old and a big case back to reception for better directions to find my room. Not fun.

It's fine for what it is, but we've barely stayed onsite, even with potential AP discounts, since the non-Disney hotel expansion.

If a pool isn't a concern I'd rather stay at the Kyriad. I had a great stay there in the summer. If I were travelling with kids I might go for the Cheyenne because there just seems to be more space and the theme is infinitely better for children.

With the current AP discounts I'd never say never, but I've stayed at nicer places for comparable prices that are not much further away!!!

My problem staying somewhere like the Kyraid is that the only way to get into the parks is by coach, and the busses always seem to run less than the Disney operated ones.

I agree it's not a bad walk back to those "partner" hotels and I found the Santa Fe so manic that the idea of a slightly longer walk for a bit of peace a fair trade.

One of the highlights of my trip last year was opening our patio doors (we were on the ground floor) and sitting outside on a deck chair reading a book and dozing. I couldn't imagine that at the Santa Fe!!!

Not that I am thinking of booking, but I thought I would share that the deals are out there. I think it's one of these whereby it's different hotels for different dates too, as it wasn't available on the Sequoia, and was only 20% off the Newport, but 40% off the New York on those dates.
