For WEEKS, he kept stating, unequivocally, that Ratatouille was performing poorly, that it would SLIDE, and that regardless of the hopes and expectations of the filmmakers and fans of the film, this film's performance was a harbinger that the Pixar buy was a bad idea, period, and that Pixar would be on the defensive for it for quite a while. Period. He DID include, early on, statements that "Disney's marketing guys" were worried, but he veered far from that as the weeks wore on, in a need to vindicate himself. He's made a variety of proclamations about happenings and events within Disney Feature Animation over the years, that have had no basis in reality - and this I know from personal perspective - and I'm convinced that enough people on the inside just hate him so much that they'll keep misdirecting him with "good sounding" but false information. And the pathetic thing about it is, he doesn't always do the homework to verify whether his info is solid. He just prints it as if it were gospel.
