One problem with the bedbugs is that no matter how clean the rooms are people who are travelling could be bringing them with them in their luggage from places they previously stayed. So, it is an ongoing battle.

Maybe I'll take a lot of extra hangers on vacation with me. I can not leave for the day and leave my hotel room messy. I always pre-clean for housekeeping!

How do you know those higher-end guests travel more often? How do you know they haven't saved up for years for one big trip? Have you interviewed many of these people in your years in the hotel service?

But, in my experience it is a safe generalization that people who travel less frequently are not up on hotel etiquette. Frankly, I don't think you need to be an expert to realize that. When you go to an airport it is pretty easy to spot the frequent travellers from those who don't travel very often.
