We've had our December stay at the CCI booked for a few months already... I have no second thoughts about staying there, nor did I consider cancelling our reservation. This will be our sixth stay with them in three years and we've never had any issues - of any kind - ever.

On one hand, it is nice to be informed and know what they look like and what to check for but on the other hand, it would be nice to not have nightmares!! I carefully checked all the scientific websites that showed pictures of what to look for on the mattresses and what bedbugs and their bites really looked like. I feel reasonably confident that I could identify the problem and by checking the room before we bring our luggage in, it would be fine.

We head to DL on 11/16 after deciding to add one extra night. We have reservations for DLH from 11/17-11/22 but the DLH is sold out for the 16th-grrr. We made reservations for just that one night at BWPPI and there is a thread about them having bedbugs too. Well, after my nightmare in which the bedbugs invaded all of our luggage and clothing and DLH wouldn't let us into their hotel for fear of bringing the bedbugs there, I have been calling every day to get into DLH-lol. I know it is silly but at least our odds would be 1/2 if we didn't have to do 2 different hotels-lol.

My dream was so realistic too-ugh thanks to all the extra research. It was a nightmare and although the bedbugs looked realistic, they were millions of them all over us and in our luggage-shiver! The walls were crawling with them and because I read to check behind the headboard, that was just layers and layers of them!

Until these postings here and on a few other boards, I had NO IDEA what they were, just a cute saying before you went to sleep, "Sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite!"

So anyone here have a reservation they are thinking of cancelling at the DLH on 11/16?!!

There is NO thread about the BWPPI having bed bugs. Someone posted in a thread review of the BWPPI that they thought they read that on LP - it was explained they were confused with this thread, corrected and told to read this.

I was not overly pleased with my last stay at the Candy Cane Inn but the staff was very responsive to my issues. So, I tried to becareful in how I worded my review of the place on LP. As I know that many LP'ers stay here consistently and love it, including one of my best friends. I respect the opinion of the persons who continually rave about it on LP.

Weigh out what you read. If you have 10 posters saying they stay there 2 and 3 times a year consistently and you have 1 poster with a negative outcome what are your odds of having a negative stay?

I do not mean to offend but you are sounding a bit hysterical and I really believe you have nothing to worry about at either motel; Candy Cane Inn or BWPPI.

I'd advise you to go to tripadvisor.com and read the reviews there also.

There have been reports of bedbugs at GC, CCI and BWPPI besides the very public lawsuit story for the Fairfield. The problem is on the rise and we would all be smart to learn how to recognize a bedbug and their telltale signs. I am a reasonable person who wanted to be informed and protect my family best that I can.

I was just saying after doing all the research, I had a nightmare all about bedbugs. I wish we didn't have to switch hotels for many reasons but we are still staying at BWPPI unless someone cancels DLH on 11/16! We have stayed there and also at CCi and never had any bedbug problems before so I am fairly confident and will just double check but it was a really creepy dream that I would not have had if I didn't read all the bedbug links posted!

BUT the bedbug issue is a growing concern all across the us due to bans on pesticides that were so strong they killed the bedbugs and everything else!

I just want to say that the report of bedbugs in one hotel is not enough to stop us from staying there. We would continue to stay at any of the 4 places that reports of bedbugs were made in Anaheim. Heck we ARE staying at the BWPPI next month. We like CCI and BWPPI fine and would not hesitate to stay at GC! I was simply commenting that all the research into the bedbug issue gave me a NIGHTMARE, you know, a bad dream from looking at those pictures-yuk!

Sorry if I have offended anyone with my bad dream post!

but hey - who go miss Disneyland - no matter what's out there.

BUT it's good to sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite. :O)

and keep one eye open for mices dropping in ceilings.....:O))

Same goes for all other hotels/motels, not just the CCI.

Heck, for a motel/Inn I love CCI and last time there we had a few issues, nothing major and nothing that their staff did not fix asap. But that said, I do realize that it is not everyone's cup of tea.:)

We are staying at Hojo's next week and I cann't wait :)

    Disneyland Disneyland Disneyland :)

HoJo was the best when our dd got sick in the middle of the night. The staff rushed us clean bedding and everything else we needed and then let us add on another night so we could use all of our parkhopper after missing the next day in the park. I was so glad we were at HoJo because DH and DS really enjoyed the pool while I stayed with dd as she recovered.

Like I said before, we enjoyed our trip at CCI too. We had a premium room there and enjoyed the little perks like the breakfast delivered to our room and the late check out. I thought the beds were really really comfy at the CCI too.

Each place has its good points and not so good points. If a pool is important to us at the time, we would pick Hojo, close walk more important, BWPPI, breakfast and shuttle, CCI has both!

The best thing for the manager or whomever to have said was "thank you/we will look into it." I'm only troubled by the denial.
