It seemed like the smoke just wasn't clearing from the "shooting star" ones that were shooting straight up from behind the castle. Some of the smoke was even a very dark black instead of the normal white. And the smoke eventually got so thick taht any fireworks that were launched and went off behind it couldn't be seen at all. Never anything I've seen at a fireworks show before and especially not a Disneyland fireworks show.
