MU just wasn't a great movie, and it didn't have a particularly stand-out score or catchy song. The umbrella short is a blatant rip-off of Johnny Fedora, so I'm glad it's not getting any praise as well. There really aren't many categories that animated stuff typically gets nominated for, and it seems like they didn't do especially good work in any of them this year Not that Pixar deserved it this year, but is there ever any discussion of nominating an animated film for an acting award? I know it's completely different than having an actor in front of a camera, but good acting in animation is a tough combination of voice work and the animator. Dory's soliloquy about 2/3 of the way through Nemo stands out in my mind as being especially well done, but there are countless examples

Same deal as Best Picture was before they expanded it to 10 nominees … There would be rioting in the streets of Beverly Hills if they "wasted" one of the coveted acting nominations on a dang cartoon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...yW8QIwys

I've never heard anything other than that.

Then again, his Dudley Doo Right hat could sway people in the other direction just as easily

If I were betting, I'd bet on U2, with Let it Go in 2nd place.
