If I have any luck, I'll post the results here, too!

Hopefully we will be as lucky as we have been in the past!!! Otherwise, will end up down the street. (sniffle, sniffle)

We'll be seven and we need two rooms, so that is pretty prohibitive. Last year, I believe the AP rate for the same period was $89. Last year we didn't have annual passes. We get them every other year so we can use one year's passes for two summer trips.
I wonder why they are so high this year?

To get the AP rate I will have to purchase at least one AP in advance, but I have been waiting to see if the rates are going to be worth it. I got the $89 rate last year, but just want to be sure I get a comparable rate again.

As far as AAA goes, we have that also. At best, it gives you like a 10% discount but that doesn't bring the price of the rooms down much! So, if that is the only reason you want to get a AAA card, I wouldn't bother.

now for those of you pro's with all the in's and out's of all the discounts, are there normally AP nights in November? it's before thanksgiving (only a few days before but still...) so I'm hoping to be able to save mom money and get lucky with AP rates then. if not we are still going to pay the 280/night but it would be nice if there were some AP nights ^_^ so once again what I'm asking is, in the past has there normally been AP nights in november?

this thread couldn't have been posted at a more perfect time!

It has been my experience that the really great prices happen when the powers that be think that the park is going to be slow.

Exactly my opinion! Last year we paid $89 for the DLH the Sunday-Wednesday FOLLOWING Thanksgiving. We've done both before & after Thanksgiving and after is much better for crowds & discounts!

I wouldn't be too scared of a 3 day weekend, it will mean longer park hours, more rides running etc.

I didn't post that, but when I called, I think that was the weekday AP rate for September. $189 weekends.

I needed two rooms for the seven of us. Then I found out that my 17 yr old son will have to fly home before this part of our trip and we'll only be six. DLH had some one bedroom suites available so even though it's more expensive than two standard rooms, I took one.

Yeah, we're spending the first two nights at a cheap motel and I was hoping that we could then do the night before and night of my youngest daughter's birthday at the DLH at AP rates lower than that $169 per room per night. The rates never got lower and now we're spending $473/night instead of the less than $338 that I was hoping for (and far more than the cheap motel) because once I got the possibility of DLH in my head I could settle for nothing else!
