Of course, he was playing the closed championship tees!

I played Medina once as a guest about 15 years ago -- it was very nice, but this may be heresy, I wasn't blown away.

Cog Hill has 4 courses and I grew up in the area ( and one of the courses was the home course for our high school golf team ( back in early 70's) --

I have played Cog Hill #4 - Dubsdread probably a little over 100 times in my life ( I am soon to be 51) - - heck I remember when greens fees were like $17 and that was 'outrageous'- LOL ! The gentleman who owned the club for years Joe Jemsek, ( passed away in 2002 I beleive he was about 90) was an unbelievable guy....this was one of the few courses where teenagers were treated with respect and welcomed ( as long as you behaved of course and could play some) - and I never forgot that as I got older and had literally 100 choices of local courses to spend my money at. He was a special person ....and Dubsdread is a special course.

I love Callaway, and am buying either the X-16 irons, or else the new GBB irons and would like to stick with the name. I hit the regular GBB now, but the GBB II is supposed to blow it away.

What have you guys heard about it?

I have yet to play any real 'name' courses other than the ones at Disney. They are TOP NOTCH! The service blew me away! I couldn't believe it, they clean your clubs and shoes before and after a round, they ask your scores and thoughts on the course. They take very good care of you. They made me feel like a pro even though I suck! :)

I want to play the International Course in Castle Rock. It's actually called the Ridge at Castle Pines, but hte Int'l is held there every year...but it's sooo expensive I can't justify it yet. :(

Gaston I would say just check out the golf channel as they have a special on "What's in the Bag?" There are SO many clubs it drives everyone crazy so your best bet is to get measured, like I did, and most people do, and try all these clubs as it's amazing what's good for the goose is not what's good for the gander. After 50K initiation, and 7300 annual dues, I CAN'T justify playing elsewhere either. Disney though, will be an exception.
Honday in 20 minutes. The men are getting hammered. The Ridge is closed today with the 40 mph winds and soaked course. They are open amana!:)
Are you playing this weekend? Just the range would be great too just to find a swing after the winter.

Osprey was my favorite - great Tom Fazio design which gets tougher as you move along - last 5 holes are a great stretch of golf.

Magnolia and Palm are somewhat similar - classic Florida courses with lots of water and jungle/marshland if you are too wayward off the tee.

Eagle Pines - just another Dye course with the same type of Dye hazards you always find on his layouts (although on this one there is always a large lake either in front of the tee box or to the left or right). Not a bad 4th choice for variety sake but frankly I played OR several times before playing a second time at EP.

Liked the clubhouse and upstairs bar at Magnolia/Palm better than restaurant at OR/EP.

Found out today that I am getting paid for a custom audio/visual system installation for a local land developer this coming week. I'll be able to buy my driver and a DVD-Cam within 3 weeks! Just in time for the season.

I'll probably be getting my irons in April, though.

    I can't wait!

He plays his slice, too. I fixed mine years ago! :)

I don't see what the big deal is with the drivers that let you change the weighting and bias. To me, it's too much like cheating. "Hey, I'm playing a dogleg left, better change the weight of my club so I can get around it with a draw instead of my banana slice!"

    You follow me?

I'm sitting here at my desk right now looking at my scorecard from the Palms course in WDW. It's a beautiful view of the 3rd hole, which is their signature hole. There's water on the right, a trap on each side of the green, and the wind blows from right to left, trying to push you far left of this small green. I remember when I played it, I played it out over the water with a draw and landed right dead center about 5 feet off of the pin.

Boy was that a good feeling!

I can't wait to play the Palms and Magnolia. EP seems to mundane Gaston.
Aren't those great shots a person hits, what makes you come back? What a feeling to flush a shot.

11th---par 3 190 or so--against a 20 mile an hour wind I flushed a 4> pulled it just 20 yards left of green but behind one of the MANY ridges> hit a fat L, still not on green, then another L 20 feet away and 3 putts, for triple 6
All that with a great 4!
Stuck here all day but we have it blowing 30 mph and around 40 degrees so it's just as well. Amana--around 45 degrees with winds subsiding so perfect and with kids off at noon, I might play 18 as we live on the 5th green/6th tee so I can keep track of the kids.
What's up there? Stuck in office par usual? How's weather?
Orlando, of course, starts The Bay Hill Classic tomorrow. The Realtor we bought our 2 townhomes from on 12/30/05 grew up ON the course! He played with all the pros and just moved back CLOSE to there with his fam. He said to bring sticks and we can play there. An offer I can't refuse.

Life was great but then kids starting screaming, etc. And today 55-------office all day so don't be too depressed and I just saw the WC weather channel and Chitown should be warmer sooner than the cape so rub it in this weekend as we have highs in the 30's:(((((((((((
