Because I think the quick service restaurants are fairly mediocre based on general restaurant standards, but I suppose they're improved from what they were in the 80s and 90s.

Do you think you enjoy the food more because you're AT Disney? Would you say the food was "good" or "excellent" if you were eating at a restaurant in your hometown?

Looking just at quality of food compared to what I can get at home, most counter service restaurants would be average and most table service restaurants would be good. If you factor in cost most counter service restaurants would be poor and table service restaurants would be fair.

Compared to other theme park, fair or sports event type food, I would rate counter service as good and table service as very good even factoring in cost.

I think, but am not sure, but I think since they started the dining plan, the quality is not the same, because they can get away with more. It also makes it very difficult to go to a decent restaurant.

French Market was amazing, Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta was to die for...and then I come back to burger's and fries. -_______-

Sadly, Disneyland Paris has the worst counter service that we rarely us them. But at least if offers the best table service restaurants than any other MK style park.

My field of reference is that I dine out maybe 180-270 times a year due to my job. I would say WDW counter service is fair to good compared to fast-food (except at the MK where it is poor) Most restaurants are on par with a TGI Friday experience, and some places like California Grill and V&A's are excellent. I also think the Napa Rose at DL could quite possibly be my fax restaurant on the planet.

For me I'd say YES, I enjoy the food more because I'm at Disney. There are plenty of good food choices outside the park, both at DL and at WDW. But once I'm there I like to eat there, either at the parks or at one of the hotels. In a lot of cases the food isn't better. A burger at Cosmic Ray's doesn't hold a candle to a double whopper with cheese or an In-N-Out double double. But the atmosphere and location count for a lot. And even though a Cosmic Ray's burger isn't at the top of my fast food list, it's still a pretty good burger.

And with that said, the California Grill is still my favorite restaurant anywhere on the planet.

For me it's the same. And since I'm a vegetarian, it's not that easy to eat in themepark restaurants. However, I was amazed how much the counter service restaurants at WDW cared about the vegetarians. At Disneyland Paris the only choices are French Fries, pizza and pasta.

Although the fast food restaurants at DLRP aren't that good, we still ate there a lot, just because of the theming of the restaurants.

I should add I did try lots of vegetarian things during the family trip in May so I really missed the old traditionals such as LT turkey and stuffing or SCiFi burger and onion rings with a vanilla coke or BLT at the Earl of Sandwich, etc, etc...hence the same old same old and if I go again it would probably be the same things. I should have a one new adventurous meal per trip rule!

For table service back in '06, the one time I ate at Le Celier, I found the meal to be excellent. Most table service restaurants I've eaten at land in the pretty good category, but I rarely splurge on fine dining.
