I think the progress was grander back then, but it seems more rapid now (I'm sure it's just a matter of perspective, but still).

When I grew up - so much was still unknown....places that today people are walking around with cell phones were deep mysteries. I think that is why things were 'grander'. The world is much smaller now - we can fly anywhere and Lord knows we are 'plugged in' 24 x 7...... I don't believe this change is for the better for the most part. Imagination is hard to find - reality is in our face very second -hard to unwind if you will. same for the elections - the candidates are 'live' every second of every day ,that has got to be brutal
