    I think I resemble that remark ;-)

And I'm afraid to ask what the difference between the three is!

Here's where I part ways with some of y'all. Yeah, 35 is a nice age to reach, BUT it's not the milestone that is 1 year, 5 year, 10 years, 25 years, or 50 years. Yes, it'd be great, if WDW would celebrate the 35th in style, but this ain't Tokyo, y'all - to think they would is only getting your hopes up, just to be crushed.

I don't think they should celebrate every little milestone, because then the really significant milestones (like 50) aren't all that special.

Methinks you're right. After that third martini, even Dinorama looks Di-NO-MITE!

Disney has always done the five-year anniversaries up big. Or did until they forgot WDW turned 30.

DL's 35th was a huge and wonderful event.

But I can already read the publicist's quote, "We are celebrating the 50 years of Disney theme parks throughout 2006 as that is what our guests feel is the more significant date. We are incorporating many new and exciting attractions, shows and entertainment as well to truly make WDW's 35th B-Day a magical one."

"If I were you, I'd be a bit offended that I was told I was 100% geek. heh"

I'm sure trekerruss meant no offense, Labuda.

After all, everyone here is a Disney geek to a large extent or this site wouldn't even exist.

    Good point, NikkiLOVESMickey.

But most people don't have a clue anymore due to Disney's marketing campaigns of late.

Remember 1996-98 was Remember the Magic: Celebrating 25 Magical years.? But in 2001, it was time to celebrate 100 Years of Magic because they needed to celebrate building a giant pin stand. Now we're celebrating 50 years of magic.
It's all crazy and most WDW guests just think WDW is 50 years old.

Then what exactly is a 'Disney Dork'?

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU! I would not be surprised if the next milestone celebrated is WDW's 50th. With so much going on for the "Happiest Celebration in the World" and the opening of Everest, celebrating something else MAY take away from this.

If you're not going to celebrate WDW's 30th or 35th anniversaries, why celebrate Epcot's 25th? Especially if you don't intend to open any new attractions.
