I would love to know-we are planning a trip soon!

Simple economics. It has nothing to do with their costs or what you can get the same thing at Mimi's for....It has EVERYTHING to do with the fact that people are willing to pay those prices.

When we are driving around in Kansas City and the I ask my wife "Where would you like to go for dinner?" Half the time she says "Blue Bayou!....oh, we forgot to make reservations..DARN :) "

Tell me, where else can you find that atmosphere? NOWHERE !

Disney is very smart to raise the prices, and they will still have a packed house for every meal. They will still have a packed house when they raise the entres to $50 or $60....becuase people will be willing to pay it.

Now $15 for a piece of pizza in tomorrowland is another story....

Having dined at the BB, I will always love the ambience, but I like the cheaper prices for most of same fare at the Cafe Orleans.

But when I take people to DL I always make it a point to go to the BB so they can experience the ambiance...

Like I said earlier ever a slow witted 5 year old can tell the difference between nighttime and daylight.

    Given:
BB's setting is **nightfall** in presumably Louisiana's bayous and swamp lands. Mgt ruins the mood by letting sunlight poor in the front doors and well into the dining areas, which is supposed to be night! Do they really think that flimsy partition works? Furthermore, when light poors in a serious glare prevents guests from fully seeing the restaurant's environment.

Supplying children with baloons and paper hats annoys and detracts from the dining experience also. BB is an upscale restaurant and balloon popping and children folding and wearing hats should be taken outside. There's plenty of room and time for that kind of fun and games in the rest of the park.

Mgt. packs guests in so tight that I can practically reach over to the neighboring table and grab an unused fork or extra napkin or hear them discussing plans after lunch. This clustering effect needs to stop.

Just like they can tell that Dumbo is not really flying off into space. Give me a break. It is just supposed to be fun. I have never had a problem with the light from the outside ruining my dining experience. And DLR is for families. So what that there are paper hats for the kids and balloons? In all the times I have gone I have never had a balloon pop during my meal-ever- and the hats do not bother me. I have seen adults in hats worse than the kids paper pirate hats!! I don't see how a child wearing a paper hat would impact your dining experience. I do not have kids-it is my hubby and me when we dine there--and I have never been bothered by a child there. It is the atmosphere that makes going to BB worth it! What bugs me are the prices. Regardless that people will pay it--they also pay that $15 mentioned for pizza-- it is still not worth the price for the quality of food that you get.

Still others think that when they are seated they will be somehow brainwashed into thinking they are actually on a plantation porch somewhere on the Mississippi Delta. Any reminder of reality and they consider the illusion ruined (see barboy)

For our family, we go once per trip, could care less what it costs, enjoy the dark, enjoy the relative quiet, enjoy that damp air and aeroma, and enjoy the meal that does not come with plastic forks or served in a foam container.

We come out of BB full, rested, and energized for the remainder of the day. For our family, BB is just as much a part of our treasured memories as POTC, Space Mountain, or any other of the magic elements we are all so fond of...

I'm not interested in going there again unless it's an LP mini meet or until I hear that the quality of the food has become consistanly very good. I don't like the prices, but I will pay that in order to have a good meal without leaving the Park.

Whoever said it before me is right. Disney will charge whatever they like so long as it is nearly impossible to get a table without a reservation.

Funny thing for me, I've hardly ever been to the BB when someone didn't drop a tray of dishes. Whenever I hear the sounds of plates shattering, I'm brought back to the BB.

Come to think of it, neither have I ! Seems like something is always breaking or falling there. They probably just chaulk it up to the darkness and how crowded the place is and not worry about it that much.
