I am not saying they shouldn't play quietly at their own table - but they should not bother other patrons. I would say the same for the Napa Rose or any other fine dining place in the parks. Just because it is a theme park doesn't mean it's just for kids. If someone is paying that much for a nice meal they should be able to enjoy it.

But like I already posted barboy stated he didn't want kids playing with a toy or fiddling with their hats-no one should anything about their behaving badly. And again I ask you-your post #61 meant what?

I agree - if someone has had too much to drink in DTD or in DCA they should be removed from the park - it's an accident waiting to happen. I do think everyone should be well behaved and remember that everyone has paid to be there and no one should ruin it for others. I am closing this window and moving on.

And for the record I dined with two boys last time--ages 8 and 11 and they were very well mannered and we all enjoyed the lunch; none of us in the party of 5 talked about problems with Bayou's mood on our Sept. visit. But now that this topic started I wanted to bring this up about the obvious issues with lighting, clustering and balloon popping.

But I think that you and I are basically on the same page-we do not like misbehaving children/and or adults especially in fine dining establishments at the DLR. I never let my children behave that way so I have zero tolerance for others that do. Please excuse any typos-typing without my reading glasses tonight! Bon Appetit

Before I went last week, I explained to my kids that this was a nice restaurant and a special meal and that they needed to keep their voices down and stay in their seats the entire time. I don't think children should be seen and not heard; I'm not a Nazi parent. But I do tire of people who think they're children should be able to behave just about anyway they want, anywhere they want, because they're kids. Barboy was spot on; some parts of Disneyland are designed for kids and families. If you go to Goofy's Kitchen and expect a quiet romantic meal, then you're in for a surprise. But if you're at Steakhouse 55 or, yes, Blue Bayou, you're entitled to something a little bit more grown up.

Sadly though it means they are a little snobby about food and will not touch most of the counter service kids offerings. At DLP, we only really tend to dine at the nicer end restaurants. Most of the time, the kids are better behaved than many aduts. And we have also learnt, if they are too tired, we cancel our reservations. That is the one time they tend to act up at the table. I grew up at the BB and Tahitian Terrace, to me a nice meal in a highly themed setting is as much of a key Disney experience as any e-ticket.
