Apparently it wasn't just liberals who couldn't follow the story. Jindal's speech has been panned from all quarters.

The delivery wasn't the greatest, but the content was fine.

The content was self-serving and patronizing, not to mention completely tone-deaf.

But you could call it "fine" if you happen to be a part of the "Jindel '12" campaign staff. As a loyal consumer of right wing red meat, I'm not at all surprised you liked it.

Personally, I think this Jindal guy is a small timer. Frankly, the conservative that has impressed me the most recently has been Tim Pawlenty. He's got a good head on his shoulders, for the most part.

    Interesting assumption.

Because you believed everything Jindal said, the same MUST be true for me.

    Interesting.

    ***It sure sounded good.***

Very good. Shaky start though, but for the most part it was impressive. I'm talking about delivery, not content. The content, I am still researching and analyzing.

    ***Too bad it's not true.***

    All of it?

Can you offer direct examples of lies, such as in the case of the Jindal speech?

She was quite rightly taken to task for that, though it didn't derail her political future (obviously), and I don't think this will derail Jindal's. But it's silly and just looks blindly partisan to claim that he didn't tell a "stretcher" (as Huck Finn would say).

The GOP really has lost their freakin' minds over being tossed from power. The lies they have been telling since the election keep getting more ridiculous by the day.
The lies that are my favorites are:
    1. The Sin Train
    2. The economic meltdown is the Dems fault because it happened since the Dems took over congress. Ignoring it was a Real Estate Bubble that burst, and the GOP policies created said bubble. Bubbles burst that is why they call them bubbles. And the bubble was NOT created after the Dems took over Capitol Hill. It was created during the 8 years of the Bush administration. The GOP OWNS this one.
    3. Sub-pime loans caused the meltdown. No, bundling loans caused this. It really is just that simple. After banks could absolve themselves of any responibility for the loans, they gave them to anybody. But nice try guys. But only a simpleton believes it was sub-primes.
    4. Obama is showing his true colors in socializing the banks. Didn't the first bank bailout happen before Obama was even elected. Oh the joys of selective memory.

    <All of it?>

I'm sure portions of it will actually pan out.

<Can you offer direct examples of lies, such as in the case of the Jindal speech?>

Since I haven't seen any direct examples of lies in Gov Jindal's speech, I can't point out anything similar in the President's. However, I have pointed out elsewhere several times when his rhetoric did not match his policies.

Reid's office issued a statement noting that a proposed Los Angeles-to-Las Vegas rail might get a big chunk of the money."

From a Washington Post article, 2/13:

"The deal provides $8 billion for high-speed rail projects, for example, including money that could benefit a controversial proposal for a magnetic-levitation rail line between Disneyland, in California, and Las Vegas, a project favored by Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.). The 311-mph train could make the trip from Sin City to Tomorrowland in less than two hours, according to backers."

From the Las Vegas Sun, 2/15:

"Reid succeeded in quadrupling to $8 billion federal grants for high-speed rail that could one day help build a maglev railroad from Las Vegas to Los Angeles."

    So where is the lie?

Being an Independent, I don't have much time for either party at this point in history, but seeing the way liberals deliver their message, I can definitely see that that would no way be the party I'd be comfortable with.

Seems to be a lot of anger out there, and a lot of blaming of others, when there's plenty of responsibility to go around with regard to this economic debacle.

And to ignore that fact is the epitome of denial.

Both parties have their hands in this mess (both pre and post election), and to pretend it to be otherwise isn't being completely truthful with one's self.

Wow, you sure showed me. Because most Republicans don't know the difference between the Mustang Ranch and the Bunny Ranch, it's evidence that we're lying idiots.

    You've totally lost it.
