That number is partially attributable to the fact that Friday was veteran's day, but it also looks like this Chicken will have great legs in its second weekend. Chicken Little easily beat second place Zathura, with 5.3 million, on Friday.

With Narnia warming up in the wings, I suspect CL will end up somewhere between $120 - $150 mil for the year.

It does seem to pretty much have the G-rated market to itself this season.

My target number would is 210, enough to prove the point that Disney can put together a good "toon" in 3D

Don't forget that last Friday was a holiday, and it artificially boosted the numbers for kids flicks and family films. Chicken Little now sits with $99.2 million in the kitty, and will finish with at least $160 million via domestic box office. It will have another strong weekend over Thanksgiving, but after that, this Chicken is a turkey."

Chicken Little is hardly a modern blockbuster compared to the above movies.

Certainly nothing for anyone involved in the film to be ashamed about.

And for your information, any movie that can get above 150 million these days, which Chicken Little will do is considered a blockbuster.

Not a blockbuster by the highest standards but $$ in the bank - and hope for the future.
