He didn't leave on his own terms.

    He was forced out.

    Those are the facts.

If I may suggest a strategy - when you post a humorous or sarcastic message, and you don't include a smiley, then it will quite often get taken at face value. There are so many people posting online. And if you don't know ahead of time the tone of writing that someone will take, like say Spirit of '74 or TDLFAN, then it's just impossible to decide whether you're just joshing or not. I've done my share of silly sarcastic comments, and have been chagrined to find that someone took me literally (which tends to make me look kinda stupid as an end result!), so I'm trying to speak much more directly now.

Unless, that is, I do the ;););) thing.

EPCOT is one of the most unusual theme parks in the Disney stateside parks. Hope they can resusitate it.

And by they way, when I read Brad Rex I think of Duncan Sheik.

The Disney Blog posted that the new guy is Jim McPhee.

Actually, that isn't unrelated at all.

Let's just say I have my sources ...

    At least there's hope now.

Jim is someone well respected by CMs and he is a parks guy, not a numbers cruncher thrown into the job because Disney had become such a hostile environment for truly qualified, creative and gifted execs.

I don't know if it's too late to stop the ignoring of EC's 25th anniversary or not ... but I feel like the bleeding that started under boy scout George Kalogridis in 1995 is finally coming to an end.

Epcot has had a revolving door of leaders since Greg Emmer (No. 2 in Anaheim now) left the position in 1995. Each subsequent leader destroyed a bit more of what made the original EPCOT Center such an amazing place. <<

Now I don't know how it works at Disney, so do you mean that the V.P. of the park decides the direction in which a park goes. I know a lot of people really liked the old E.P.C.O.T. Center, but a lot of people found it very boring. I can't really comment because I never went to the old Epcot. I do know that it has improved over the last 10 years in my opinion. It's still my favorite park as it was 10 years ago.

Most people still think the full name of the park is Epcot Center anyway. "Epcot" was more of a nickname.

I know, I know, the park isn't the 'Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow' -- but it's a salute to the spirit of that concept.

This is also the place that i believe will bethe area of thrills in the future with new roller coasters for thrill seekers that Disney is lacking in. While i am ok with Disney being family oriented w/no huge roller coasters, it loses the general attraction of teens and many people.

WHose bright idea was it to sell alcoholic beverages and cigarettes on Disney property?

    Walt Disney?

I think alcohol in the non-Magic Kingdom parks is okay.

Heck, how hammered can you get at $6.20 for a cup of beer?

And if it interests anyone, alcohol actually removes water from your cells thus making you even thirstier. so little fruity alcoholic beverages arent needed on a hot summer day. No offense to anyone. Lol, i sound like such a nerd.

I've never seen anyone intoxicated at a Disney park.
