Selling the company doesn't make the crappy pizza taste any better. Once Papa John's came on the scene, Domino's really had no reason to exist.

To make a long story short, I did go down to the front desk with my laptop to show them what their website said. I'm not normally one to make a stink about much of anything, but I thought that this was a material misrepresentation (well, mistake, as I doubt very much that it was malicious), and I really had planned my night around being able to get a meal once I got to my room, arriving on a late flight and taking Magical Express. Had I known that there would be no food, I would have rented a car so I could pick up something on the way to the resort.

And in something very uncharacteristic of me, I went to the front desk mostly just to see what the duty manager would say (I saw him come out of the back office when I was checking in). I didn't really expect him to be able to magically produce food if the kitchen was closed. I just wanted to see what he would say, as this was clearly a case where they were wrong and I wanted them to know that this stuff really does matter from time to time.

When they offered to pay for Domino's (not much else is really available for delivery after 1am), I thought that was a reasonable way to handle the situation. I told them that I thought the most important thing was that the website gets fixed so that this doesn't happen to the next guest. They gave me a look along the lines of "Do you really think we can get TWDC to change the website?"

And, the look of the Domino's driver was priceless. I guess it's not every day that he gets paid right out of the till at the front desk. The mouse even gave him a $5 tip on an $18 delivery.

You should have seen the looks on everyone's faces when the Domino's guy showed up with my pizza.

I agree, you really couldn't ask for more at that hour, as far as them trying to take care of your immediate needs appologetically.

However, if I were you, I wouldn't order any room service from Disney ever again (you're probably on the "spit list" lol).

They gave me a menu, dialed the number, and then handed me the phone to order. I could have ordered anything I wanted. Actually, they showed me the menu and asked me if anything on it would be acceptable to me. Although from room service I would have ordered a more traditional meal, I ended up ordering from Domino's what I otherwise would have ordered from them.

What's wrong? Magical Express is now an included benefit of staying on-site. I have to say that I was rather pleased with the whole experience. Considering that they're not exactly in the mood these days of doing stuff for nothing, and considering that it must cost a lot of money to run it, they must be rather convinced that it's keeping people on-property on average for enough extra time in order to justify the cost. I wonder how much the taxi and rental car business went down as a result?
