Do the WorldWide Resorts have to struggle with this also or is this just a "Local" problem. What is fair for all in the long run. I realize this has been discussed before and causes many opinions. And I am NOT talking about families with small children or people with special dietary needs. ANd there is a small voice inside me that says But the food at the resorts can get to be disgusting(oversalted and overprocessed) so I would probably bring in food also if I was a local...But How does DIsney continue to Build Bigger and Better in a world that people want discounted.

I really like the food at DL, our family eats 2 to 3 meals there most every trip. I know a lot of people don't like it, but we have some regular places we like and go there. When we take food in it's snack type stuff to see us through if we are starving. Last trip a little bag of trailmix saved us from my grumpy husband (he needed a pick-me-up and the trailmix helped until we went to eat a meal). We've taken 1/2 Peanut butter sandwiches for the same purpose, also carrot sticks and string cheese. The worst is having your kids get really grumpy because they are starving, and having the park so packed that the wait for every restaurant is over 1/2 hour. That happened to us one year on Veteran's day. I've never taken a meal in so I can't speak to that, only snacks. We always snack while we're on the move though or sitting on a bench, so I don't know about sitting at a restaurant table to snack.

Rancho Del Zocalo and half the places in DCA offer really good counter service options.

But what I have learned in all my Disney travels is to not eat a Burger unless it is table service, the place in Tomorrowland (WDW) or a Pizza Burger (DLP).

If you'd like a table I'd suggest Carnation Plaza at the end of Main Street (not the Carnation restaurant on Main Street) as there is no longer a restaurant there but the tables and chairs remain :)

Tuesday a CM stopped a family and was throughly searching their food. I mean taking out their bag of zip locked cheetos and feeling it. It was pretty eye boggling. We moved to another line but I'm pretty sure they were being sent to the picnic lockers. Usually they just do a peek and send you on your way.

I have also seen a family sitting at the RiverBelle with large tupperware containers of food and dishware. They were having a full meal. I guess it really does depend on the CM.

    Have fun on your trip!

Honest, cross my heart. The water at DL's water fountains is like silvery goodness compared to the foul stuff we get here in the Valley.

Maybe there was a comment made or another reason why she was being so touchy feely with each zip lock bag. Maybe she was hungry :) Seriously though, at least 20 or more people were going through the other lines and the CM was still having them open pockets on their various purses and bags. Like I said, we, along with everyone else bailed to other lines.

    Closet Chester Cheetah :) LOL!
