I don't pretend I do. But I know what its like to loose half your family. Or be to told by your religion that your "evil" and going to hell. I also know what its like to live in a society that calls you "sick","crazy","a deviant". Or to live in a society that criminalizes your sexual preference with another consenting adult. The military doesn't throw you out for being black. It does throw you out on a dishonorable discharge for being gay. Have you ever had to take a polygraph test when you applied for a job and one of the questions is "are you gay". Do you realize that many police departments here in Georgia will accept you even if you have used cocaine outside of five years. But will not accept you if your gay? How about a society that uses you as a battle cry for a call to arms to pass legislation making sure that you NEVER MARRY ANOTHER CONSENTING ADULT of your choice. Despite all this most of the gay people I know have dedicated their lives to make this world a beter place for EVERYONE. Our parents must have done a damn good job of raising us. When was the last time you heard of a "pink triangle gang" knocking over a convience store or commiting someother act of criminal activity? Yes, many other people including blacks have also dedicated their lives to making this world a better place for ALL as well. To bad Bryant Gumbel isn't one of them.

Both arguments are weak." You can comment all you want, I suppose, but that doesn't mean you have the first idea of what you're saying. Does this mean that you feel like you could take a trip over to Compton or Watts and tell them you know what their lives are like?

Give the other races some television time.

Did anyone notice the rise of China in the games?

To KT---------If you had a relative who was gay; if you had roomates in college who were gay; if you hung out in 100's of gay bars in many major cities in the U.S. for the better part of a decade--yes you could definitely feel the PAIN, and I do mean pain of being gay in America. Not to pick on trip but he admitted not even knowing KT was gay! I knew in less than a week before he actually STATED it in a post. If you have that level of non-cognizance about a particular "sub culture" then of course you couldn't understand what it's like to be gay. It's kinda like in the movie "Men In Black" where no one saw the aliens except the men in black.
