I will say TSPL is a huge mistake, and is crap use of money. I will say that Flik's Fun Faire was a missed opportunity full of attractions only the under 7's enjoy. Or that Goofy's sky School is lipstick on a pig, and SSS is still a rubbish attraction, and even more carny now than when DCA opened. Or that Expedition Everest was a huge waste with virtually none of the effects working. Never once did I put down Carsland. I simply said I was worried. Big difference.

I'm expecting that they will have a couple toony things in it, but I really hope that they use their restraint (yah, right) and keep it as realistic as possible. That drawing of the two areas superimposed on one another is a pretty good comparison. It does look like the BVS drawing is an older one, since it shows the entrance turnstyles in the same spot at the current ones. While I suspect that in general it will still be pretty close, it's not the most current design. It's kind of funny to see how much empty space was in the actual plaza area, and how little the actual shapes of the rest of the street will change.
Originally Posted By Dr Hans Reinhardt "Never once did I put down Carsland. I simply said I was worried. Big difference." Thanks for the posts Dave. I have to agree with Yamabuki that (based on what I can tell) Carsland will be a completely different experience than the one tiny corner of DSP devoted to the film Cars. The scale of the DCA project is impressive - stretching all the way from Bugs 3D to the Katella edge of the property. The new things you mentioned coming to HKDL look cool, and everyone has their preferences, but I certainly don't think there is any indication that Carsland and what's at DSP will have much if anything in common.

Did you see this? <a href="http://www.mouseinfo.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=39520&original=1&c=" target="_blank">http://www.mouseinfo.com/galle...nal=1&c=</a> Carsland is massive.

I'm bothered the character aspect of this project, but I have to say that the design and engineering of this new land is impressive.

The parallel tracks are only for the racing portion at the end, so it appears like this part will be moving relatively slow. It also looks like it might be inspired by Lightning's scenic drive with Sally through the hills, past the waterfall. I don't know if there are plans for a waterfall here, but that scene is one of my favorite parts of the film, so I'm excited that it might be included in the park!

Originally Posted By Dr Hans Reinhardt "The cars won't travel through the actual bridge, but will pass underneath it next to the waterfall." What or who will travel over the bridge?

The new turnstiles are considerably north of the original. The originals are arranged in a fairly tight curve. The broader curve that the new turnstiles is superimposed over are the CALIFORNIA letters. Looks like some of the Magical Memory tiles will be sacrificed. I hope they move them into a new position.

On a semi-related note, does any body know what the final parade route will be? I've heard all sorts of varieties, including starting by the Carthay Circle, starting in Hollywood Pictures Backlot near TOT, ending by the factories, ending by the swings, and going through Carsland. It was already a really long parade route, so I don't see them adding much to it (like all of HPB), but the new light poles look like they could also hold show lighting, in addition to the regular atmosphere lighting.
