It all started with me posting on a wrestling website, ITSC, and talking about how we all thought pro wrestling needed something more than what Vince McMahon had to offer. I never had any direct contact with Eric Bischoff, but instead e-mailed Paul Orndorff or Terry Taylor occasionally, who were the main bookers. I came up with storylines for the Giant (Paul Wight) that got him in NWO and also got him out of it, since apparently he didn't like it. I also contributed to storylines for Randy Savage and Kevin Nash whenever Nash was solo while Scott Hall was somewhere drying out. Mostly it would be simply suggesting general plot lines which apparently the wrestlers themselves would then flesh out. Not many of them were really deep thinkers. By late 1997, I had developed a friendship with Bill Goldberg's father, who passed away within the last year. He was a retired doctor in Florida. Between the two of us, we suggested the general idea that Goldberg would be this quiet monster type of guy, but then Bischoff really created a monster in that Goldberg went "undefeated" for so long. By then, I had moved on, had graduated law school, and had no more interest as WCW was tanking. All in all, I might have made a couple grand from them.

I remember going to a few of their shows, the Dudley Boys were awesome in that league. But now pro wrestling is just a farce, okay it always was, but it was an entertaining farce. Plus growing up, you had the AWA, NWA, WWF, it was a great time to be a kid watching wrestling. Plus it's turned into a death trap for these guys, it seems like we can't go more than a month without hearing about some wrestler dying.

Heart attacks routinely kill these guys while they're in their 40's, the latest being Eddie Guerrero. About ten years ago steroids were all the rage and did all manner of damage to those guys.

I've caught it a time or two with him, and it's very interesting and it is sweeping the country. Get those Levi's on, Jim in Merced CA, stand tall, shake those hands by your side, grab a cowboy hat (hats will probably be way more popular now due to Brokeback Mountain) and hang on!
