It gets liberal scientists BILLIONS of dollars in funding to do " research " so they don't have to get a job at the local bead shop or record store. Liberals love to push the idea that the future is all doom and gloom. So global warming is a great myth for them to latch onto. Notice how conservatives who live on the same planet could care less? We are busy enjoying our lives and not worrying about junk science. Junkscience.com is a nice site to check out. They put the smackdown on Al Gore all the time. You will notice that Al Gore will NEVER debate global warming with a scientist that thinks he is full of it.

I'm sure there's a source for this notion as well. >>It gets liberal scientists BILLIONS of dollars in funding to do " research "<< Scientists should be banned

That's the stand?

The "global warming doesn't exist" stance became so laughable that they morphed it into "well, it does, but it's always been happening." It's the same way conservatives morphed creationism into "intelligent design" - it's just another way to spin their agenda. I'll reiterate what has already been said and completely ignored: The lie of conservatives is to attempt to portray this as evenly balanced scales, with arguments on both sides from respected scientists. It's simply not true. The vast, vast majority of respected scientists working for respected, reliable institutions believe global warming is real and that it's the result of human behavior. Nearly all "scientists" who argue otherwise receive their funding from corporate lobby who have a vested business interest in insisting their actions are not responsible.

It is simply incredible that they, and his film, are commanding public attention." But surely Carter is merely part of what most people regard as a tiny cadre of "climate change skeptics" who disagree with the "vast majority of scientists" Gore cites? No; Carter is one of hundreds of highly qualified non-governmental, non-industry, non-lobby group climate experts who contest the hypothesis that human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) are causing significant global climate change. "Climate experts" is the operative term here. Why? Because what Gore's "majority of scientists" think is immaterial when only a very small fraction of them actually work in the climate field. << Someone else pointed out this article by the same Professor Bob Carter: http://tinyurl.com/sxkue (goes to telegraph.co.uk) In this article, Carter claims that warming stopped in 1998. (But wasn't 2005 the warmest year on record?)
