So man has no effect whatsoever on the environment? Is it naive to allow the possibility that climate change happens naturally AND that mankind's actions might have some effect on advancing climate change?

Well Dirk, since you'd posted a quote from a scientist once funded my Exxon-Mobile, I thought it was worth mentioning the oil industry.

Of course, as we have seen, "funding" by the oil industry can easily stretched to include anyone who argues against humans being behind climate change. And I doubt the majority of scientists believe that human behavior is wholly or even mostly responsible for recent climate change. As I noted earlier, climate change has been occurring since the planet was formed.

You can doubt anything you want. I've posted the survey from a very respected, non-partisan journal. If you've got something that suggests otherwise, we're all ears.

And as I noted earlier, this is the administration's new spin on global warming. As early as six years ago, this wasn't the conservative stance. It was simply, "global warming isn't happening". That's now such an absurd statement that it's morphed (and I compared it to the way conservatives morphed creationism into intelligent design) into climate change is a naturally occuring event that's nothing to be worried about.

And I've read it. It doesn't state things as strongly as you do.

Seems to me like it's being morphed because advocates are changing their terminology, not because opponents are.
