There are a couple of feral colonies and every time we think we have them all neutered or spayed another one or two show up, it's almost a full time job.

If you get them young enough they are amazing pets. My late, lamented furball (who we had to put down after 17 years) was a feral rescue and he was a wonderful and amazing furry family member.

I told a friend of mine about my mother adopting this kitten. Her response was: "THAT....is one LUCKY kitty!"

Two of our three cats were feral. One took to taming very well. The other took a VERY long time to tame. She is still skittish around most people but is extremely sweet and lovable with us.

He now weighs 2.6 lbs and is as happy as can be. He lives on a screened-in porch and my mother sometimes lets him in the house. He runs around the house sliding on her hardwood floors. It's funny to watch.

After trying different brands of cat food we found one that he LOVES.

It's called Freshpet Select. It has its own cooler in the pet food aisle at our grocery store. It must be refrigerated and used within 2 days of opening.

Duke likes it so much he licks the bowl. And it must be good for him---his eyes are clear, his coat is soft, and he has lots of energy.

Does anyone else have experience with this brand of cat food?
