We had visitors from all over the world-some of whom came back each year to see those statues. And, this woman had the gall to declare that those brass statues did not "fit" the image of the Park? That bit they did on the Daily Show was priceless. I think they made it out to be just what it was...too stupid for serious thought! There are people who live in the 'burbs here who hadn't been downtown in years until those statues were put out and they were so delighted to see how the City of St Paul had cleaned up and restored some of those downtown areas. We had friends who visited last summer from Nevada who had heard about the statues and we went down to Rice Park just so they could have their photos taken with them. And, there were several other groups there at the same time doing the same thing! NONE of them came to see Rice Park because it was Rice Park or had a particular "image"..they came to see the statues. Sorry, I ramble on. It's just so stupid..but then, perhaps she also believes that only certain "types" of people should be allowed in the park too!!!

Looking at the Cedar Fair website, it appears that Valley Fair is the only one of their parks that isn't currently using the Peanuts characters at all. Even the other parks that don't currently have a Camp Snoopy area (Geauga Lake and Michigan Adventure) have pictures of the Peanuts characters all over their websites. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they are at least using the characters in the park for meet & greets and on merchandise this next season. -Jeff

I'm guessing that it may not be the "Camp Snoopy" theme that the other parks have to differentiate it from the old Camp Snoopy park at Mall of America. Some speculation for characters that might possibly be used for the park at MOA could be either Nicktoons or Looney Tunes. It all depends on licensing fees.
