I told them there was no time for that. LOL

BUT I must say WDW downtown Disney makes DL downtown Disney look like a little toy.

I am planning to return next summer for several days and am hoping a stay in the resort with resort transportation with help with that detached feeling. I stayed in Kissimmee last time and the motel was horrible. Any way, to address that feeling of being herded about I would have to say that I felt rather herded on this last trip to Disneyland. I still loved the park and think it has a magic to it found no where else, but it was sooooo crowded with Pirates reopening and it was so hot that fighting the crowds and the heat was at times overwhelming. Escaping to DCA was wonderful. They have so many more park benches to sit in and relax and the walkways are not so crowded. It was very refreshing to go over there for a few hours before returning to the chaos at Disneyland. The walkways were so packed and so many ropes were up directing crowds that you literally were herded in with no possibility of moving at times. They also had so many detours that you could only travel one way in parts of the park. I wish I had known that Pirates was having their grand opening and the movie was premiering when I booked the vacation because I would have not gone at that time. Having said that I was sad to leave and can't wait to return to my beloved parks.

Last trip to WDW was 18 days followed by a cruise. The next one is only 11 due to work constraints.

When we go to DLP, it's often for 5-7 days.

I find quick trips are exhausting and you feel like you miss out. I find a longer trip, allowing for time to swim, breakfast in the room, dine, shop and hang out at places like HOB really make for a relaxing time.

And for the record, I prefer the Disneyland resort to WDW or DLP in the main. Now if DAK and EPCOT were at DL, it would be perfect!!!!

Put those in Cali and I will be a happy woman.

Last year when we were in DL, my hisband went out to pick up tacos at a place on Harbor Blvd. down across the street from Target. (Los Sanchez, I think???? something like that) While he was there someone told him that their store was moving somewhere down the road b/c Disney had purchased their property. They said there was a rumor that they were going to build a water park. I guess it was only a rumor b/c I never heard another thing about it. Darn! We were excited thinking about it, anyway.

I remember getting a (Disney) newsletter with sketches of a new water park they were planning with a pirate theme. It looked incredible. (It was probably an LP newsletter, so someone else may remember it.) The article said it had not been decided which park they would be building it near, but since WDW already had 2 water parks it would most likely be in another park. I, of course, thought of the other rumor and hoped it would be in DL!

Is two full days enough time to get a decent flavor for DL?

Is this your first trip? Are you going to both parks ? DCA could probably be done in 1 day and personally if you can it would be nice to have 2 days for DL.

BUT if you can't do what you can - 2 days sure is better than 0.
