Tell me this never went through those toon-crazy morons in WDI !!! Glad to hear they are FINALLY getting around to updating this. It's only the 21st Century!

The went the same way when virtual reality was so in in the 1990s and the result was a temporary Alladin Magic Carpet Ride with glasses in Communicore and later DisneyQuest -- and we all know how successful that was. Just like simulators, they'll one day realize that people don't visit Disney parks just to interact with the characters in new and exciting ways. That's why attractions like Mansion and Big Thunder and Jungle Cruise and even CoP still pull people in.

And that fantastic suite of music that used to play in the Communicore sections of the park -- brilliant. I've always felt that DCA missed the mark when they opted for 'Pop Music with that has California in the lyrics' instead of a great orchestral suite of music that would capture the spirit of California. Disneyland has a great musician on staff who would have been happy to do it. Instead, the Sunshine Plaza gets 'California Girls' and 'Hollywood Nights' -- hip and edgy indeed.

It so set the mood for the whole EPCOT Center experience. I remember being at a trubute for Buddy Baker a few years ago at USC and spoke with many Disney musicians, including some legends, and they all felt like current management's goal was to remove all traces of the original score.

To many having 'California pop songs' is just as powerful as having 'California Suite composed by James Newton Howard.' There's no accounting for taste.

I really hope that Disney will release a comprehensive CD collection for Epcot's 25th anniversary next year like they did for Disneyland's 50th. (Even better would be a comprehensive CD collection for ALL of WDW!!) Somehow, though, I have my doubts that they will. If they do, I really hope that they will include ALL of the original FW background music loop!
