Usually, the wait person shares some of their tips with the cooks, busboys, etc. and the carrot might get them to move things along faster. Also, you might ask the waiter if any of the entrees are quicker to prepare than others.

If you do not have a package or an invitation from one of the Resort departments then you can wait in the standby queue north of the Christmas Tree if you want to try to have a seat for the show. Even though seats for standby Guests are not guaranteed there are usually at least a few extra seats for the shows. Otherwise, you could also situate yourself along the roped off area so you can see the show, but you need to get there early for this because people line up VERY early along the ropes. Even the standby queue fills up early.

We'll try and finish our meal as quick as possible but will there be a different gate for Candlelight dinner guests? I sure hope everything goes as smoothly as possible, I'm looking forward to a wonderful Disneyland evening.

They'll hear and see the first performance, but I know they'll be happy to wait to see you in the show!
