Originally Posted By capteoyes "oc dean, how can you call it an "annoying" thumping floor when you've never even experienced it?!" Oh trust me, it is annoying. And yes, it was still there when I went a week ago. (Friends keep wanting to go on) What are the wait times for EO for Spring break? Im guessing 2 shows at least. On a related note, I was told Tough to be a Bug theater holds 500 persons! 9 minutes per show! So at 5, maybe 6 shows per hour, Bug must be the greatest theoretical hourly capacity attraction out there! Still a great movie, btw. Holds up well, was great 3d before Avatar.

I think part of the problem is that the floor is too big for any specifically timed motion. As one part of the floor moves, it ripples across to the other side, which means that it's never going to sync up exactly. The film itself seemed to be in decent physical shape (no real dust or debris), but still not quite as good as the print we saw at MuppetVision (which was the best I've ever seen, did they switch to digital, or was it just a brand new print?) The story was pretty weak, and the characters were awful. Writing was terrible, and the special effects have not aged well. Combine that with the woefully out of date fashion choices, and it was a painful, yet hillarious, experience. We're planning on a return trip soon, just to see the epic rediculousness again. We went on just after the fireworks ended (we were in the hub and made it over in time to be loaded directly into the theater), and I'd say it was about 1/3 to 1/2 full. Nowhere near capacity, but way more than I've ever seen with HISTA. Other guests seemed to have the same reactions as us, which makes for fantastic people-watching at the exit of the film!

That would only allow one minute to "unload" everybody, including people who move slowly, get the theatre clear, then load everybody in and get them seated properly. The unload and re-load would take at least 3 minutes combined on average; add that to a minute show and it's a 12 minute cycle. More like 5 shows an hour I'd think, and if every one was completely full, that would be 2500 theoretical hourly capacity. Which is excellent, but still below the biggest people-eaters.
Originally Posted By danyoung I'd say the load/unload cycle is MUCH longer than 3 minutes. I'd give 1 minute to mostly empty the theater, and then maybe 4 to 5 minutes to load the new audience. Add 9 minutes per show and you have around 15 minutes per cycle, which feels pretty reasonable to me.

In practice, of course, it hasn't even needed to be that high at DCA or DAK when I've been there (maybe when it was new at DAK, and maybe if the DCA changes pack in the guests. If DCA starts getting more crowded, it's good to have a pretty good people-eater like that available.)

Last time I saw Muppets the print was pretty bad. Nice to hear they may have improved it. I like the Bugs show better than Muppets, though.
