The moving floor only kicked in a couple of times, like when the ship crash landed. No thumping floor. Really disappointed. When the floor moved, it was awesome. It didn't even move when going thru the canyon. Water spray - never used. Wind in face - only once. Rat effect - not used. Lights - yes. Also, the movie was brighter and clearer than I remember. So, it was fine that they didn't convert to digital. So basically, I was bummed that they didn't used all those in-house fx to the fullest extent. So much potential.

MJ did some amazing videos, this wasn't one of them.

What was cool when you were in your early teens is not as cool when you're nearly 40! *LOL*

But that danged floor (for me with my rose colored glasses on behind the 3D glasses) was so OFF the beat that it made no sense to me. A couple of thumps were fine but seriously turn the rest off and let us enjoy the video.

I think that the Imagineers tried to do was to move the floor like they do/did at the Experience Music Project in Seattle (they have a showscan theatre attraction with rock n roll - the seats moved during the songs, it was quite good) Anyhow, I want MORE movement, especially during the Death Star canyon sequence (throw in some wind while they are at it). It was really really fun when it moved. Btw, the theatre was quite busy compared to when Hista was playing. (can anyone confirm if EO has better attendance than hista did?)

Originally Posted By believe >>>believe, did you feel that the floor was thumping "in time" to the music?<<< The "thumping" wasn't syncing to the music, per say. I think the effect was suppose to tell you that you are "moved by the music" and not the music moved you (if you know what I mean). As I said, maybe they were copying Experience Music Project. However, certain parts did sync - It did "jolt" when warranted, like when MJ gets shocked or hit, etc. All I can say is, more moving, more fun!

Originally Posted By believe per se - thanks for correcting me. EO's floor movement was not a floating sensation. It was just moving. I don't have any technical data, but maybe the theater's motion base is rather limited and they could only do certain motions.
