It's like EO Tribute 2.0 without the annoying "Tribute" in the title, a beautiful sparkling new lobby (haven't seen the pre-show area/pre-show yet), and more effects during the show. It also looks like they removed the weird blue tint from the digital curtain. The only thing lacking is the entrance sign, which is cardboard cutout compared to DL's beautiful neon signage. << Source: http://micechat.com/forums/wal...-up.html

I sat in the very back the first time I saw it in March. I barely felt the floor move (I was in the row in front of the handicapped row). When I saw it again a couple weeks later, we were right in the middle of the theater. The floor moving, along with trying to focus on the 3D movie gave me a mild case of motion sickness. Not enough to need a barf bag, but enough that I needed to take a break afterwards. When I saw it in June at Grad Nite, I was prepared for it, so it didn't bother me. And, the music is awesome. After the first time seeing the Tribute, I went home and downloaded both songs to my iPod.

Now, the floor. It's my opinion as a guy who has done some pretty big shows in my time that they could have done better with this effect. It felt like they were trying to go with the beat but just needed another couple rounds of programming before they got it right. As it is, it's CLOSE, which in some ways is worse than just some general movement. I wish they would have used it for things like the crash landing, or maybe when MJ first zaps things with his powers, and then left it off of the beat by beat music tracks. That's where it got fairly annoying and distracting. By the way, the theater was about 2/3rds full - much fuller than I've seen HISTA in the past 5 years at least. And when the CM introduced the show and said with great drama "And now we're proude to present . . . Captain EO", the crowd spontaneously erupted in applause and cheers, and they applauded warmly at the end of the show as well. I was really listening sharply to hear if any of this was tongue in cheek or patronizing, and I didn't sense that at all. The crowd seemed to totally be happy that the show was back, and we all very much enjoyed it in all of its cheesiness!

They were the first to get HISTA. >>>It felt like they were trying to go with the beat but just needed another couple rounds of programming before they got it right. As it is, it's CLOSE<<<< I don't think they were going to the beat, I think they were just moving for the sake of moving (ala EMP). So that's why I don't understand why they didn't move in the beginning of the movie during the "Death Star" sequence - would have been great.
Originally Posted By danyoung >I don't think they were going to the beat, I think they were just moving for the sake of moving...< Early on that may have been correct. But once MJ started his musical dance and song numbers, the floor tried to hit the beat, but was off more than it was on. Or worse, it was CLOSE, which was very distracting.

You want EO to be more than just a movie, you want it to be an attraction where you are emmersed in it.

It really distracts from the song. It reminds me of the other businesses besides Disney ... like Shrek 3D in Universal. Where the movements don't work well with the featured film. It's really rather shoddy ... the way it comes off ... like the programmer who did "EO". (Looking forward to the bulldozers in a few years - OR SOONER!)
