By "that property" do you mean the Candy Cane, 7-Eleven and other hotels outside what is the Resort now, or are you talking about the toll booths and road area, bean?

Toll booth and road areas are all being looked at for another expansion phase for DCA sometime after the third gate opens

There was a hotel pitched for the east side of the esplanade, where the “Christmas Tree lot†is currently located. Sounded like a great location, but haven’t heard if there’s any chance if it’s actually being developed.

Not saying they couldn't do it, just that it would present a lot of logistical challenges, and it probably wouldn't be able to have more than fifty or so rooms.

Now if they were to also take over the current 'hollywood and dine' building, that would free up a lot more space for a full-size hotel, and create an opportunity for an 'in-park' entrance.

By eastern are you referring to the Simba lot? There seems plenty of room there for a hotel and it's far enough back from the park that it wouldn't clash with the PP's theming(unlike the ugly PP Hotel).

Cars Land will take approximately about 1/2 of the land available for expansion. The timon lot and its surrounding infrustructure is much bigger than many think.

Cars land is being built with future expansion in mind. There are areas where new paths will lead into the remaining land available.

Cars land will have its boundary on the south side right against the parling lot access road which would then become backstage roads if needed. Its south eastern boundary will be angled to follow the curve road that leads from the toll booths then goe straight south to north up to FFF. at the point their will be a small section of Cars Land that will have a curvature to allow a path leading into the TOT plaza.

The remaining parking lot as well as the very wide entrance roads as well as the tram route both on the parking area and behind TOT and Hyperion would then be expansion for the park. Show buildings cold easily be built wedged within certain areas and still allow for the main backstage connection road that leads to the access tunnel to Disneyland backstage. Remember DCA has the advantage of sharing Disneylands huge backstage infrustructure.

Now lets look at the transportation hub.

This area is the ugly concrete and asphalt area that is between Disneyland and DCA.

The area includes a dual loading area for the timon lot (this area is quite large). It also includes the three large bus and shuttle waiting areas. The area also includes a large esplanade between the transportation hub and rarely unused ticket booths.

Now also consider that there are the possibilities of redesigning the outdated backstage area near costuming and old backstage harbor entrance.

This is the area I have been refering to. A complete redesign of the area would eliminate the timon tram loading. It would also help reconfigure the shuttle and bus hub, ticket booth area and part of the backstage area to allow a more inviting entrance.

A hotel built over the area with acces paths, new ticket booth options as well as a transportation hub that would also connect the third gate.

this could help see what i am talking about visually.

if you create a collection you could use the tools available to create paths and boundary boxes that give you approximate measyrements.

note that if you actually outline all of GCH buildings which include the bottom level stores of DTD you could fit them all in the piece of property i am talking about.

Its all about designing something that fits the area and is practical. The first level could easily have access paths into the main esplanade as well a better designed transportation hub. There is also the taxi waiting area and the 15 minute parking lot.

When I finally got to go there it was such a thrill to see beautiful architecture being used so thoughtfully and practically too!

I can only hope for a similar solution for Anaheim! You got me excited, Bean!
