Steady improvement, as of a society or civilization: a believer in human progress. See Synonyms at development. 4. A ceremonial journey made by a sovereign through his or her realm. Last time I checked, our progress was quite different from the humorous and antiquated portrayal we currently witness.

That being said, maybe it should continue to change and stay updated...but isn't that sort of Innoventions area? COP probably either belongs in a museum and staying the way it is, or in Epcot and ever changing. But someone hit the nail on the head and sounded off loudly when they said that Horizons was a continuation of COP in a sense. And look where Horizons is now. It was my absolute fav thing of all. I love stuff that was once futuristic but is now dated. I am not sure why, I think its becuase I am terribly nostalgic.

The Carousel of Progress was an interesting presentation in it's day -- the revolving theater is still unique in this day and age. But it was never more than an infomercial with a catchy tune! Wouldn't it be nice if we could revamp this attraction to be relevant in today's world and also capture more than just the vision of one company's desire to sell household appliances to a captive audience at the World's Fair?
