Oh yeah... And when my son at age 16 said to me two weeks before we left for WDW.. I'm not going... You know school work and all, girlfriend.. It took me a week to stop shaking... He stayed behind to our dismay... But it all worked out... To each his own , about letting children makeup their own minds... at 13 or 14 ... They WILL go with me on vacation , no question asked.. Then again we are talking about a long time ago when kids were kids and not aged beyond their years like now... JUST MY OPINION!!

What would you guys have had be put there and WHY are you guys against the Pooh playground. *** opens mind for response ***

plain and simple-- I can go to a better quality playground in my own neighborhood -- they did a half donkey job on it and why put a freakin' playground in the middle of Fantasyland, some of the most expensive property on earth ? This was the best they could come up with -- a place for parents to dump their kids while they get their 'me' time ?

For starters there is a LOT of property there - think of the size of the 20K ride and the building behind it-- it could have housed an e ticket easily.....and if not that, how about a dark ride or two ? Anything but a McPoo playground in that location.

There are playgrounds in the hotels, playgrounds in the neighborhoods.....when Walt decided to build DL, he did so, so that familes could have time together ina great place outside of the playground...we have come full circle.....

Other than that, no reasons I can think of....

Absolutely, no question about that. Just don't expect them to like what you want them to like, that's all. Great if they do, a bit disappointing if they don't... but you love them no less. I am not a parent, but my niece and nephew loved Disneyland when they were younger. My niece still loves the place... more now, even. But my nephew, who just entered the Air Force, now thinks it's okay, nothing special. Oh well.

Our daughter on the other hand is 22 and she still LOVES WDW. She goes with us whenever her schedule will allow it.

Kids react differently. My son was always concerned (too concerned) about what the other kids would say, and always had to do the "cool" thing.

My daughter has always been more independent. If she enjoys something she doesn't much care about what anyone else thinks of it. Which I'm sure helps with her decision to pursue library science as a career. ;-)

I got that vibe from my nephew, that Disneyland wasn't cool. But when we all went to Disneyland for the 50th anniversary, he went off on his own and had a blast at DCA, doing what he felt like, and checking out girls.

To me, you could easily add two 'eras' to each stage in order to make the time flow faster.
