DHS has something on Walt Disney, but that's really about it. I'm not advocating for this to be in a museum. I'm advocating for it to be kept up, and up to date. Also, the CURRENT JII?!!? I'd like to see that in a landfill. The old one? Well, I don't want to see that in a museum, either. That was a classic, timeless ride, that could have EASILY existed past 1998. There was nothing 1980's about it.

In DHS we had the back lots littered with old Disney stuff. Bit and pieces of Disney memorabilia are all over the place. Isn't there still a train car from the old Ft Wilderness Campground railroad being used as a consession stand in DtD? Isn't one of the old subs from 20K on a beach on Disney's Island in the Bahamas? Have you ever visited the Iron Spike room in the Wilderness Lodge Villas to find Walt Disney's personal backyard railroad stuff. Here in Kennesaw Georgia our Kennesaw General Museum is filled with Disney memorabilia regarding the filming of Walt Disney's Great Locomotive Chase". To suggest the removal and destruction of CoP is way, way, out there. Meanwhile Disney fans continue to ignore the fact that rides and attractions like Journey Into Imagaination are still actively being maintianed. I'm not suggesting that something has to go for something else to be maintained or gained. I just think this is an obvious case of one "sucks" and the other one is a keeper regardless of its popularity or current condition. <<The old one? Well, I don't want to see that in a museum, either. But, I'm not the one that transformed the Imagination Pavallion into a half empty, one story disappointment.

Why put the date on a picture that also reads 'today' B. Why not just list it as 'today' C. When things like this are listed, it makes me look at the whole piece of that exhibit as 4 years out of date. Update the 'Carousel of Progress' or send it to Yesterland.

It's not that the concept is without any merit, it's that they've let it get a little moldy. Fun Fact: As we've replaced appliances over the years, almost subliminally I had purchased all GE appliances. I think Carousel of Progress played a role in that. So get GE to sponsor it and give it a fresh, updated makeover.

I was just against the fact of it being left alone and made to be a museum attraction. It's WD connection should be preserved, be a part of the show, but it should ALWAYS be kept up and current.

And, I might add, am still at a loss to figure out how it fits in with Future Land and better than tomorrowland. A better choice might be DHS as an entertainment legend. Two things enter into my belief that what you are asking for is not anything more than a dream. One is that in order to make it current the gap between the last scene and the previous one just gets wider and wider and wider. It starts to lose whatever cohesiveness that it still has. The second is that they are NOT going to try and stay ahead of things forever. It is too difficult to foresee the future and way to expensive to maintain a, less than thrill ride, just to keep us old timers happy. It's not going to happen. If my choice is to make it an established and promoted historic part of Disney past, connected with and appreciated as a piece of Walt Disney himself or have it buried in some bone yard someplace. Guess which one I am going to fight for!

And how "he" looked to the future. I just think that might be a good element for the MK.

There aren't to many things I'm sure of, but I would bet the farm that Walt would have updated them to look more realistic had that technology existed before his death.

How is it realistic to let a ride grow so old that it's a museum piece? COP is about progress. It should be updated, kept with the times, and with that, as a LIVING tribute to it's original show and Walt. Just letting it grow old is the antithesis of what that shows is all about. It fits in Future World, quite easily. It's about "where man has been, and where he is going". That's the theme. Works for me.

COP is a exhibition, that's why it still ticks, even in the poor condition it's in. there's no need to make it intricate and of a narrative. That's not what the show is about. The show is about showcasing technology in a home. And with a family. And with a song. That's what the show should always revolve (HAH) around.
