This would indicate that theater owners have confidence in this film's long range performance. I believe that the double punch of Superman and PotC will take screens away, but we will see...

The movie is doing well via word of mouth, and the showing we were at (9:50) was about two thirds full. Lots of families, but even more young dates. It should hit that 200 mark very soon. Have to say, the eyes were a bit freaky though, not sure what they could have done, but by the end of the movie I found my self becoming quite spooked..glad they weren't in 3-d

I wasn't a big Shrek fan but the bowling ball that my son wanted was really cool looking so he has a Shrek Bowling Ball with Donkey on it and its way coooooool.

It's still a disappointment.<< Methinks the disappoint is among those who were so confident that Cars would be Pixar's feet-of-clay flop. Recall that the terribly disappointing first weekend (only $60 million!) led to much gloating that: a. People didn't like Cars; b. The movie won't make much beyond its "poor" opening weekend; and c. Kids won't want the character based merchandise. Wrong, wrong and wrong. (Oh, and lest I didn't make myself clear-- Cars is by no stretch of the imagination a failure.)

But the total weekend drop was 44%, which is quite normal. That Cars is still on so many screens going into weekend #5 shows that theater owners have confidence it will continue to draw customers.
