    Bravo.
Wasn't it these same uber-fans that convinced Disney that the return of Lincoln would bring guests flocking to its gates.
It has the latest AA technology. Look at how that paid off for Disney. (yawning through the dripping sarcasm here.)
Seriously bringing back a technological upgrade of a show that is over 40 years old? BORING.

I just located Robb Alvey's POV You Tube video. It kind of sums up my feelings about the ride.

An exact clone .. will only reach an audience east of the Mississippi river.

If you want to capture the wide$t audience po$$ible .... then you make each resort as unique to their own attractions, as much as possible.

While I agree with this in principle, each park's Space Mountain, Pirates and Haunted Mansion have been different enough that they still draw lines. If Radiator Springs Racers draws lines here, it will probably draw lines elsewhere.
Oh, and Rocket Rods was one of the stupidest wastes of money by that vaunted Imagineer with the initials T.B. ever done.

Except it would have been awesome. If given the proper budget and the banked turns it was supposed to have.

The ride as conceived had no show.

Of course it did. The "show" was zooming over Tomorrowland in a futuristic vehicle. Kind of like... well... The Peoplemover, only faster.

Which is already the lion's share of the market.

And speaking of west of the Mississippi, I know a LOT of people here in Colorado who have been to WDW but not DLR. I think that the common wisdom is that if you're going to travel, then you might as well go to WDW.

I agree - why not build something completely different in Florida? You could do an indoor Indy mine car coaster in the area of the current stunt show for instance instead of just dropping in a clone of the DLR or TDS Indy ride.

The guys down the street at Universal are putting their pedal to the metal to build up the Potter franchise and draw in more guests to their parks - you would have to feel that increased attendance at those parks will not be the result of increased visitors to Orlando but a shift in those coming to the area from a Disney park to a Universal park for one or more days.

The battle is on in O-town, is it not?

All different right? No, just a different story each time.
So Cars Land uses technology like test track and somehow Universal is better? I think they're drawing from the same playbook.
