If there is, the CMs along the way will be communicating that to guests so they can re-allocate their EMH time. No sense standing in the RSR line through the full EMH waiting for the attraction to open (with no guarantees how long the delay will be). TSMM is a great alternative.

Well, I should say that it worked that way for us each time we went, but it has been over a year (sigh) since we have gone, so I don't know if that is still the best strategy.

I'll have 2 days to spend in DCA and one of them will be a half day, so there goes the chances of getting a fast pass that day. Surely, you can see how much simpler it would be if I could just make a reservation beforehand.

They were completely gone for the day by 10am. We only managed to do RSR one more time on our trip and it was just before park closing and via the single rider line.

Hence my plan of showing up 30 minutes prior to park opening on a day that magic morning is not happening at dca and going straight to fastpass line. I'm pretty good and am usually one of the first in line. I think this year I will have my family go straight to RSR while I grab the fastpasses and then go join them in the standby line.

And getting my husband to the park that early is almost impossible. The other day will be a half day, so we won't be getting to parks until like 1pm or so, and that means the fast passes will be gone most likely on a Thursday. And single rider isn't an option for us, since my kids would not want to go alone, and I wouldn't want them to either. They can't be waiting by themselves for us at 6 and 10.

Still not ideal, but better than having to skip it entirely

Magic Morning or not, when park opens, if we are there at opening, we shouldn't have issues getting a Fast Pass, right? It's just the other day that probably won't work out. The half day, I'm sure fast passes will be gone mid day, and I'm not one to wait for 1-2 hours for anything.
