The Penny Arcade and especially the starcade were wonderful places that had games I never saw at home in the Pacific Northwest. They were so wonderful. However, the era of the arcade is over. The Starcade is just depressing. The entire top floor is closed and the bottom floor has the same crap that Chuck E. Cheese has. This is a large space in tomoprrowland that is begging for a makeover. Now back to the topic at hand. I would love for the penny arcade to be transformed into a turn of the century arcade. Old skill games such as the Crane and the old coin operated baseball games. As it is now it is just a tease. That would be great because the outside signage is WONDERFUL!

They all seemed to operate just fine, but they had a lot of wear and tear. Given how similar a lot of them were (there's only so many times I want to see a little mechanical man get executed), I wonder if Disney could do a similar exhibit on a smaller scale, and still capture the essence of it. Just leave out the giant creepy clown thing...

And then to be able to enjoy the serenity and peacefulness of the Island simply adds to the whole experience.

Funny to me that they would repurpose such a large restaurant site for a bakery+. But I still don't find the Poppins theme all that wrong, especially since a rendition of Jolly Holiday has played on Main Street USA for a number of years. Then walking past the Penny Arcade I thought, wow, it has the most magical facade and is the literal bright spot on Main Street USA. They can't possibly lose the arcade, even in its current scaled back format.

It will be more than just a bakery. I hope we do not lose the last vestiges of the Penny Arcade. All the equipment was somewhat fought over during the last big rehab, and what is there now is only due to the efforts of some tenacious Imagineers. The accountants figure retail space out to the square inch (no exaggeration), and you can imagine how all those "useless" old arcade machines give them the hives.
