Now I'm tempted ... I can't take you up on your offer, though, since I'm also married.

Yes, just stay away from these very expensive things in Tokyo and you would be fine:

1)a cup of coffee or drink in Ginza(high end Rodeo Drivish/Manhatton like district but even noticeably more expensive than those two---a cup of coffee is $10 or 11 for a small)

    2)a taxi ride

    3)any sexual escorting

    4)steak dinners

5)Mira Costa and DL Hotel stays

there are other things that can drain your yen very fast also but you get the point.

///Interesting that the park admission is cheaper, too.///

    I just checked adult prices:
    Dl Anaheim....1 day/1 park $69
4 day hopper $41 per day

    WDW...........1 day/1 park $75
4 day hopper $55 per day

    Tokyo ........1 day/1park $61
4 day hopper $39 per day

Now Tokyo Dis Resort's 4 day 'hopper' strangely only allows for hopping on the last two days. The first two days the guest chooses one park only per day to visit thus creating 4 possible scenarios:

Disney Sea then Disney Sea, Disney Sea then Dl, Dl then Dl or Dl then Disney Sea

It's not perfect, but it's the closest thing to a perfect Disney Resort. The biggest obstacle is actually flying there! However, getting around the country itself is pretty easy.

    Eh, it's something new.

Enjoy Epcot and Animal Kingdom which are awesome (only similars are Soaring, and then in DAK - Dinosaur is somewhat similar to INdy with Dinos, and Kali River Rapids is a smaller version of Grizzly at DCA).

The Studios has a lot of overlaps with DL and DCA, but Lights, Motors, Action; the great Movie Ride; Rock and Roller Coaster; and the Indy Stunt Show are worth checking out (skip Fantasmic if short on time though, it is not a patch on the DL version).

For night time, Illuminations at Epcot is my fav night time show, and Wishes has good pyro.

Enjoy. I look forward to hearing your reviews.

    Are you kidding?
Dubai..., that's in the United Arab Emirates. Collectively, those people sicken me. There is something deeply disturbing about that culture and I refuse to set foot in their god forsaken land. I have more respect for North Korea, Iran and BushII than I do UAE. Nuke 'em I say but first let's help all of those foreign workers get out of harms way.

Egypt... no way! Another disgusting regime that would serve humanity better if it blew away with the desert sands.

I might put into Morocco if opportunity presented itself; that's a hard call though.

Epcot - Spaceship Earth, American Adventure and Illuminations are must dos (they are the key draw for me in Fla).
Also the Land, Test Track and Universe of Energy are very high on the agenda. And of course take time to explore World Showcase and dine in a table service restaurant. (I kid you not, it took us nearly 4 days to do everything at Epcot - not including every good restaurant, that takes longer).

DAK - Kilemenjaro Safari, Pengani Exploration Trail, Flights of Wonder, Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids, Maharja Jungle Trek, Conservation Station and Dinosaur are the must dos.

DHS - The Great Movie Ride; the Walt Disney exhibit; Lights, Motors, Action; Indy Stunt Show; and Rock and Roller Coaster are do not miss attractions. Also ToT is slightly different too (I prefer DCA's, but I am in the minority - here's a good chance to cast your vote).

This is the other big reason we prefer DL to WDW these days. We have a six year old. Nothing like intstant gratification of peeking out the window to see DL in the morning while we are eating breakfast from our room at HoJos. Ahh.... but the grandparents winter in Florida, and some other good friends live down there.

We are staying at Port Orleans this time. If the guests park free offer is still valid, we will drive to the park each day and the (on early close nights) drive off property to eat dinner. I'm assuming the parks will close early in February like they do in Anaheim.

I can't believe Illuminations is still there! I remember seeing this many years ago, it is awesome. Thanks for the warning that Fantasmic is not as good. I do want to try TSMM, even though it probably is the same. We enjoyed it that much.

I'm the first to agree that WDW's F! isn't as good as the Anaheim version, I'd still recommend watching it at least once if you can fit it in. It's a unique show, with Pocahontas scenes taking the place of the Columbia scenes. I don't think the film segments are paced as well in Florida. And the ending boat, made to look like Steamboat Willie's boat, can be a letdown if you're expecting the mighty Mark Twain. But it's still a pretty cool show. I'd suggest seeing it at least once and judging for yourself.

What in God's name is there that is worthy?

It's a damn desert that gets 120 degrees---it's hell on earth with new hotels and malls. HOTELS and MALLS.....I mean what is interesting about that? I don't travel to other countries for hotels and malls.

Indoor snow skiing ... I saw it on TV and that isn't going to work on me---I guess if one lives in the desert then he might get excited but I have world famous Tahoe just over a 3 hrs drive away. I'll take the real alpine environment with world Olypic quality runs and sheer beauty over a ridiculously small and encapsulated ski zone.

Casinos.... not going to interest me in the slightest. If I want that I have Vegas/Reno/beautiful Tahoe to tap.
Heck, at Atlantis, Bahamas I consistently marched right through that casino without paying any attention to the gaming just so I could get back to the fabulous beaches and water recreation.

What does Dubia have? There's no Grand Canyon, Chichen Itza, Great Wall, Stone Forests, rice terraces, cable cars, beautiful mountain ranges, natural waterscapes like Victoria Falls or amazing lookouts like Victoria Peak. Nada, Zippo!

But most of all that persecuting culture is a disgrace to mankind and I will not give them money.

    Yes, Tokyo is totally cool.

Vending machines **everywhere** selling **anything** from beer to 'used' schoolgirl underwear(lol, don't ask)

the cleanest streets, walkways, buildings and cars anywhere--- no trash, no used gum or oil stains on the streets, cars without dents or cracked windows and in good working order.

the strangest looking young generation imaginable---- some paint their faces white and spike their hair in crazy colors like green or purple while walking around in pajamas and holding stuffed animals, toy guitars or rubber snakes.

bright neon signs and a cultural fixation with all things cute

you can take a train(very clean too) anywhere--- the most elaborate track network and stations in the world. 4 million people pass through Shinjuku station each day.

Japanese are extremely polite and helpful towards 'Gaigins'--- us foreigners.
