The Balkans has a 1500+ year history of religious strife and sectarian violence, but we took action there in the 90's and things are better now. Not perfect, but better. Freedom and democracy will improve people's lives everywhere they are allowed to florish.

Any type of evidence that something in their history suggests what we're doing would work. But since you have already admitted it can't be eradicated: "I don't think they can stop it, just reduce it." then there's no point in us being there any longer. Instead of pouring a thousand gallons of gas on a fire they'll just be pouring a hundred. The result is the same. We took on an unwinnable situation. We didn't think it through, we didn't pay attention to history, we went in simply because we could. Since I voted for Bush, he's accountable to me. I had a hand in hiring him, I want him to explain why he didn't foresee this result. I don't understand this president. He's against stem cell research that could reverse diseases and save lives, he's against abortions, he's pro death penalty for cold blooded killers, yet he has no problem at all sending over 2700 American soldiers to their death in an attempt to perform a task that is tantamount to reversing the direction of the orbit of the earth. There's a guy named bin Laden who has vowed to kill us all yet Bush says he doesn't care if he ever catches him. That's not being "tough on terrorism", that's foolish macho word play, or worse yet, a frank admission that we can't. No amount of loyalist defenders can convince me we picked the absolute wrong time to elect and re-elect one of the least intelligent presidents ever.
