TV shows - expect cheap reality TV - expect no new ideas so when you read they're thinking of a 'new' Munsters series that is hip and edgy - you realize there is almost no creativity left. PotC 14..coming to t atheatre near you in 2025. general public behavior- expect boorish and slovenly and you'll likely not be disappointed. take your pick- so singling out Disney ( which sometimes does go lower than they should, but sometimes still exceeds) seems to make no sense. Yes, I hold them to a higher standard also..but the 'new reality' out there is crappy everywhere

Since Disney is the focus of our discussion, and since we are all Disney fans, and since we know what Disney is capable of that would most likely be the focus of our anger, rather than how the rest of the real world is.

Disney used to cheer me up when the rest of the world couldn't, sadly that no longer happens, in fact because it doesn't, it disappoints me even more. --- I'm sorry you're there, but I can tell you I know I'm not. The minute I walk under the train tracks and enter Main STreet- warts and all, I still am uplifted. I bust my backside the other 50 weeks a year - 60-70 hours a week many weeks, trying to fulfill obligations that many times cannot be met. Stress is like a daily vitamin tablet, I know I will take more in every day. Raising children in this world, making financial commitments- dealing with family issues and health concerns take a toll. Do I care that a light bulb is out, that something I used to like is gone, or dumbed down - of course. Would I rather be there than anywhere else at that time- you bet. It's one of the few places on earth I can actually relax and enjoy my family- as they all enjoy the place also..so it's fairly easy. Can't remember the last time we had any kind of conflict while visiting. For us it really is 'Welcome Home' at our DVC unit. Do I know it's all 'pretend' - you bet, that reality hits the night before I return to work. So I choose not to add a few more points to my diastolic pressure count becase the honey butter is no longer on the table ? Nope. I am thankful the place still exists as som many of my childhood favorites are but memoires. My kids love the place and can't wait to go ' as a family'- how nice is that ? Soon likely I will be there with grandkids.. and I hope it is there for their kids as well, and I do what I can to help that. If that makes me an apologist, well then so be it.

With 2 grown ( well 25 and 16) kids agreeing on anything is an accomplishment- let alone most everything. They're always up for sit down meals because Dad is paying..so even if they go off for a period of time, they're back at lunch at dinner. If we went to Hawaii - I can tell you my wife doesn't care for it, she'd rather be in Germany or Ireland. If we went to Oreland the kids would rather be in Jamaica.... me, I'm with ya as I'm glad to be away, anywhere..but enjoy the 'harmony' of a WDW vacation hope that makes sense

Locals/regulars shouldn't have to do that. They should be able to enjoy everything just the same as those that only come once a year or less.

Yeti disco danced for us, good job! I just don't see how that is conversation worthy. So I don't think criticizing is easier; it's just those points are the only ones worthy of discussion. It's the same debate folks have about the news. What are they supposed to say? The sun rose and set today. Yay!

Went to Boston. Went to IoA. From 2001-2005 we skipped WDW, too. Not being there makes you want to be there a little bit more, but it doesn't lessen expecations and the level of quality Disney thi ks they can get away with.
