I think it was something to do with either Disney or Lady Gaga.

Yes, but it's been 10 years since I was there.

They use to have the most beautiful Black Swan in the WS Lagoon too, but I haven't seen it in a number of years.

I think Black Swans are only native to Austraila.

I've wanted to see it at Christmas. Haven't yet.

But it just ... I guess the word is works so well. On a level none of the others do ...

Very curious to see what happens in Shanghai. I do know the Chinese will want something unique.

Really? Wasn't the walk-thru open by then?

They likely would if they had the need.

The neat thing (to me) is that you'd never know (much like at EPCOT) that these buildings have all this hidden space in them. I believe the F-Land buildings were supposed to have the Peter Pan and Little Mermaid dark rides that budgeteered out of the equation.

Not sure what was going in the Buzz building.

TDLFAN likes Gaga ... I wouldn't know her if she were here!

    Fifth grade??!?

I thought it was second grade.

With an education like that you could be Governor of more than 1/2 our states!

I think Disney removed ALL birds from everywhere on property around 2000 and sent them to DAK to save $$$.

They are pretty much demanding that across the Park. It's going to be fantastic if they don't cheap out. I would love to be involved in that one.

I would also like to be the first one to pee in it's main fountain. (Sorry I couldn't help, but keep the myth alive.)

    >> Really? Wasn't the walk-thru open by then? <<

It's been 42 years, but as best I remember you walked through the Castle, and there was only a place to buy Kodak film.

I want a real behind the scenes tour.

Donna Summer is going to be upset with him cheating on her.

I saw Lady Gaga on SNL one time, and that's been it. She has talent, but she's much to weird for my taste. Of course I thought Lawrence Welk was a pretty radical dude.

Mom always said if I would just get that Elementary Sheepskin, I could own the World. I was just to wild and impetuous to stick it out though.

I'm glad you didn't mention my home State by name.

    I don't doubt it.

I really do miss the Flamingos in that little sandy area with the water close by the Odyssey, and the Red Parrots outside of the Mexican pavilion.

I guess it's dumb to miss those things, but they really did add to the ambiance for me.

I believe it will be very high quality, but not match the quality of DLP at opening or TDS at opening.

I also think the possible/likely involvement of the OLC raises the quality stakes.

Just save it for a WDW resort pool!

HK would require a plane ride ... or a long time at sea!

I think he was weirder then she is ... my grandmother used to make us watch him when we were young. Turned me off both the Midwest and ballroom dancing.

    Of course.

Because the little things DO matter.

but how many folks have a clue they were even there?

    Same with Tokyo's.

It kills me that there are copies of castles, even in a park like TDL. WDI couldn't be original? Couldn't be unique and creative?

Why does their icon get to be ours? It cheapens all of them.

Does anything get built in the East without the OLC being involved?

    >> I am almost 100% certain it would have been open by then ... Google it! ;-) <<

If it was open I flat out missed it. If anything had been going on I think I would have noticed. (Even though I must admit my primary goal was to meet chicks.)

The Castle being so small, and selling film in it is burnt into my brain. That is why I was so disappointed. Exactly what does the walk thru entail?

My parents never missed a show

    >> I won't tell her if you won't! <<

It would probably break her heart.

The Black Swan, Cygnus atratus is a large non-migratory waterbird which breeds mainly in the southeast and southwest of Australia. It is also found along the east coast of Australia, Tasmania and recently reintroduced in New Zealand. Prior to the arrival of the Māori, a sub-species known as the New Zealand Swan used to live in New Zealand. This subspecies was hunted to extinction. The Black Swan was formerly placed into a monotypic genus, Chenopis.

The Black Swan is commonly found in the wetlands of southern Australia. Unfortunately, human inhabitance has decreased the population of the swan. The current global population of the Black Swan is approximately around 500,000 individuals.

The Black Swan is 130cm (52in) long and weighs up to 9kg (20lbs). It has all black plumage, except for the red bill, dark grey legs and white tips of the wing feathers. The neck is long and curved in an "S". On its red bill, there is a white bar near the tip. Both sexes are similar, with female slightly smaller and lighter than male. The cygnets have light grey plumage.

The Southern Hemisphere swan species differ from the all-white Northern Hemisphere swans in that they all have some black in the plumage, but only the Black Swan is almost completely black. However, its closest living relative is probably the Mute Swan which is most similar, except in body plumage.

Every year, the adults moult and become flightless. During this time they gather on open lakes in flocks. The diet consists mainly of water plants and unlike many other waterbirds, they spend their entire lives in the area where they were hatched.

As with other swans, the Black Swan is largely monogamous, pairing for life. It nests on large mounds build in the middle of a shallow lake and reuses the same nest each year, restoring or rebuilding it as needed. Male and female swans share the care of the nest, and once the cygnets are fledged, it is not uncommon to see whole families looking for food.

Black Swans were discovered by the expedition of Willem de Vlamingh to the west coast of Australia in 1697. Their discovery created great interest in Europe, where "all swans are white" had long been used as a standard example of a well-known scientific truth.

The official state emblem of Western Australia, the Black Swan is protected under the Australian National Parks and Wildlife Act, 1974.

How about we just agree they come from eggs EE?

It seems that my talents presented themselves a little later than the 4th grade, when I made that choice. ;-)

The love for History came a bit later, and also came with a knack for it.

Sadly, I suck at the sciences. But I still have a nice appreciation for them.

Did you notice them when you were staying there? Or perhaps having a magical dinner at Kona Cafe or 'Ohana?
